I own a 550 and love it, this is a great price for a current gen new Roomba.

dont wait pull that trigger. I love mine, I have 3. just buy a good set of tweezers to clean it out regularly

I have the same model, and it's definitely nice to have. Doesn't replace the good old upright vacuum cleaner, but makes it so you don't need to use it as much.

Also, makes a great cat toy.

Alll I gotta say is, you guys must have A LOT of these little boogers!

I think that this will take a while... Anyone too lazy to vacuum, is still in bed right now.

The original technology was the Virtual Wall. Then the good people at iRobot updated their technology and added a new name. Sort of like Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix.

I have two older models, they're fabulous! Just bought this one for my mom (who doesn't have cats). On second thought, I should have given her one of my old ones and kept this one for myself. *sigh*

I need to refresh my Roomba fleet, but have to have the scheduler models, and these don't schedule. So sad...

I have a Roomba - an earlier model, a gift - and initially I thought it was just a cute toy. Honestly it's much more powerful than I thought, and really gets all the dust bunnies right along the wall and under the bed because it's so low to the ground. Great for wood floors and low-pile wool rugs, have not tried on any shaggy rugs or really plush rugs. Only drawback is needing to clear the floor of things first to give it room to move around (not essential, but it will clean better without bumping into things), but with a regular vacuum you'd be moving all those things one at a time anyway. And you'd be doing the vacuuming.

Virtual Wall stops the Roomba. Virtual Lighthouse stops the Roomba until it completes the room, lets it go into the other room, stops it from leaving that room, then allows it to go back through to reach the base station.

Still using my Scheduler from a WO from November, 2008. It works well on ceramic tile. I wish Woot would sell more Scoobas as mine died some time ago.

Why doesn't irobot list model 540 on their website? Is this a discontinued model? If so, why?

Does anyone know the power adapter specs? I live in Switzerland now and want to grab one of these but would need to get a new adapter.

The virtual wall is used to keep a Roomba in a particular area. The robot itself has cliff sensors that are very effective at keeping the Roomba from going down stairs or falling off a table.
