Is it waterproof? Can you use it in the rain?

How easy is this to set up? I live in a fairly windy city and don't want to get smacked by wires used to hold it up.

how heavy is this? is it easily portable?

Looks like a wonderful structure for those in the sun belt. Don't think that it will have much application in the northern midwest. Too cold here.

It is important to note if you get into a confrontation with a Gazebo, you will be in a one-on-one duel. Gazebos have special ways of making sure that they single out one person as its prey. No one can help you. You must face the Gazebo alone.

Is it easy to set it up with one person?

Went immediately to listen to Tony Randall's version of "Winchester Cathedral." Already had the album cued up on the media player, actually. Thanks for reminding me, Woot!

Has had one of these for the last 2 summers, and can attest to it's durability during a windstorm. And it's ability to keep the rain out!

is there a repair kit included in case of rips?

Exactly what I was thinking. I'm not sure it would stand up to Michigan weather.

I wonder how it would handle snow loads or if you'd have to take it down for winter? Also, I wonder how it would stand up to wind.

Can you use it in the yard,
Can you use it on a train?
I'm really hoping that,
someone can explain!

I set one of these up once. They are actually pretty easy to erect. However, you have to anchor the legs or it will blow right over in a storm. Also, it is a good idea to keep the flaps open and strapped to the poles when you aren't using the gazebo. Otherwise, they act as a big sail and if anchored right, then they will eventually rip.

It's 5 o'clock somewhere.

Wonder how many people it would take to set this up?

My father has one of these. Although it's a nice bit of shade, they don't stand up to the elements well. A strong wind storm will rip one apart and they're a magnet for mosquitoes looking for some shade. He's had to replace the top "canvas" part twice in two years. Not a great buy.

The important question is whether it'll eat you after you do so!

Seems like Numark is behind the Garden Treasures brand at Lowe's. This product might just be "last year's" model. Here's this year's offering: http://www.lowes.com/pl_Garden+Treasures_4294823015+4294965469_4294937087_

You definitely have to take it down for the winter if you get more than a few inches of snow. As for wind, see my previous post.

It takes 2 people to put this together. However if you have a 3rd person it will make it much easier. The reason it takes this many paople is that's how many Wooters it takes to put this Gazebo together. There is a joke in there somewhere

How durable are these? Are they meant to be set up for big events and then broken down, or can they stand in your yard for the whole summer?

That makes sense - the Manchester isn't on
Numark's website.

Waterproof is likely. However, it looks blank underneath. No tarp or anything. My wife and I took a simlar such tent thingy like this gazebo camping once and water managed to leak in underneath.

Have a similar model, except no side curtains. works best if setup on a deck where you can bolt the posts to the ground-see "Leg Post Base" pic. Also, see "Top of Leg Post and Crossbars" after a few years of being put up in spring and taken down in winter, the sleeves of the canopy where the frame slides in will rip and replacement canopies cost more than this entire unit. Overall a good product to enjoy outdoor drinking games in hot TEXAS sun. BTW- the roof will not support a fan; found out the hard way

You might want to check with your Home Owners' Association before purchasing... For instance, my HOA says you can't put up a garden shed without prior approval. Actually, I did before I realized that it was against HOA rules...now I won't call them to take care of something that is their responsibility because I'm worried about getting in trouble for putting up the shed. I hate HOAs...but that's another rant for another place...
