VERY weak graphics card. It is barely better than an standard integrated card. Does this have a GPU slot for upgrading?

Same here, 2.8 ghz seems like it will be a powerful enough CPU, I don't know anything about the graphic chipset it's using though. Anyone have any insights on that? Wooters don't let Wooters buy PC's with evil (embedded graphics) inside.

You'd have to wait about six months until Halloween. Then you can get them at party stores for really cheap (but with no warranty and less customer service than from Woot).

There were HTPCs before HDMI.

But yeah, they kind of sucked.

it IS an integrated graphics card..
it probably does have a slot, but the power supply probably wouldn't support the more powerful ones.

also, this isn't the best deal.. best buy had another pc like this, but with a 20" monitor and a phenom quad core processor. i think you'd be better off building your own computer rather than buying this.

It does not have to come with an HDMI port!!

This machine has one PCI Express x16 slot so you could very easily purchase a 50$ video card and pop it in without any other modifications necessary because it's a low-profile card that doesn't draw much power. The AMD Quad processor will chew threw any and all 1080p HD content with.

You may also want to get an nVidia solution for CUDA support, but that's a preference. =)

DVI = HDMI without the audio. It's electrically compatible.

Yeah there is a slot. That's what I get for not reading the description before posting *scolds himself*.

With my system (HP m9400t, q9700 quad, 4 gb ram, nvidia 9600gso, tv card, wireless card), I only got a 350 watt power supply. I shudder to think what this one has.

If you do add a new graphics card, be sure to have adequet cooling. My stock HP overheated like a b**ch before I left the case open 24/7 and added another fan. This case looks to be about the same design, and the motherboard looks to be about the same as well.

My GPU idles at around 80C, and hits 99C under a full load. CPU idles at 40C, maxes at 83C. So if you plan to do anything CPU intensive or, if you add a discrete card, GPU intensive, be ready to add some extra cooling.

No, you can get even more!
My video card only has DVI and my monitor lacks a DVI slot.
So I have a DVI to HDMI adapter hooked up to it running 1920x1200 no problem.
Actually, from the video card it runs into a multiple input box and then to my monitor.
No picture problems.

DVI and HDMI are very similar.
Just think of HDMI as the new DVI

I picked up a similar system back in June 09, HP AMD x4 2.2 GHz with 6 gb of RAM with the Famous Maker 24" LCD screen. I put a 500W power supply and an nVidia GTX 260 OC, 2 extra hard drives, and this baby is freaking AWESOME. Games are soooo smooth, everything flies! I have had no issues with this system whatsoever!

Hey, how's this for a quality post?:

I think it actually looks like a good deal.
It should be able to do 1080p videos for an HTPC. It's not a big gaming machine, but it'll surf the net, play mp3s and let you do your taxes. AND your mom can play her Farmville on it!!

The signals are interchangeable. HDMI can include audio, DVI cannot.

Dual Link DVI can support up to 3840 x 2400, HDMI tops out at 2560 x 1600. However, most DVI tops out at 2560 x 1600, and most HDMI at 1920 x 1080.

PCI: One (One available)
PCI Express x16: One (One available)
PCI Express x1: Two (Two available)
PCI Express x1 minicard socket: One (One available)

Yes, it has one x16 slot that can be used for upgrading.

It's got:
NVIDIA GeForce 9100 video graphics chip set

Meaning it's integrated into the mobo.

Pick that up real cheap. Slide it in you'll be fine.

Note: The hard drive is only 5400RPM! Hard drives are important factors in how "zippy" your system is.

The video card also shares the system memory from what I can tell. But with 6 GB, that shouldn't be a big issue. The power supply is 300 Watts. That would need an upgrade to handle the biggest and best video cards. It doesn't have Gigabit LAN but most people probably won't need it. I would have called the processor a Phenom II and not Athlon II in the description as well. Seems like a decent deal though.

To be fair, they're selling a graphics card for $45 on Newegg with HDMI.
