My Bucket of Cats has arrived. There was a moment of total dejection this morning at 8:15, when the shipment was handed off to USPS and I was told to "Allow one to two additional days for delivery" ---- aaaaaahhh!

But it came today regardless. My haul?

  • 1 Pinnacle Studio t-shirt (what is this, anyway?)
  • 1 High School Musical decal wall clock - how did Woot know what I would be sure to call crap?
  • 1 Robert Gallery Gladiators of the Gridiron action figure
  • 1 folding picnic basket
  • 1 set of kid-sized ear muffs - guess the other kid will be going commando next winter
  • 1 American Tourister camera bag which fits perfectly
  • 1 Barska 10x25 binoculars
  • 0 (zero) bags of Texas air. Odd, that, I think I'll have to contact Woot

And last but certainly not least, the largest and heaviest wristwatch I have ever encountered -- this one here:
http://sellout.woot.com/blog/viewentry.aspx?id=11595

A wonderful experience, best Book of Crap ever. Thank you all for playing.

USPS redelivered the package. They weren't kidding when they said it was damaged. AFAIK, though, nothing is missing.

Contents:
2x XL Pinnacle shirts
1x Picnic Basket
1x replacement Roomba brush
1x American Tourister camera bag
1x demolished Leap Frog Crammer box with slightly banged up and possibly non-functional Crammer device.

i live in an apartment complex. for some reason, the post office decided to not deliver to the office anymore (or the office said no deliveries)

and i have the weekends booked for the previous 2 and the next 2 weekends. The post office opens 1.5 hrs before i have to be at work (it's about a 20 min commute) and closes right when work lets out. it's a pain.

Got my Bowl of Cereal today. Nothing really impressive, but not a bad haul. I got exactly three craps, which from my experience is unusual.

1 X Pinnacle Studio 12 nylon backpack/bag thingie

1 X small American Tourister camera bag

1 X foldable picnic basket

And a few bags of Texas air.

You snooze, you loose. Well I have snost and lost.

This is true. I believe a woot staff member has verified this as well. At least I think someone got a replacement because of that. I have yet to be shorted, so no personal experience.

The box/texas air are packing materials, not items.

I am going stir crazy waiting for any kind of an update on my box. There has still not been any updates since Saturday at 7:11 a.m. saying it departed New Berlin, WI. However, this is the first I have seen anyone post anything about one that is around my weight 6.5 lbs.

Yeah, I'm dying over here too. Mine says "Departed New Berlin"...and it takes a freakin' hour or less to get here, so I don't know if that means the driver died, or what...

edit: Ok, so maybe a little longer than an hour if they don't drive like me.

According to the communique (email) I received from the Woot Gods, bags of air are not considered items. They are, in fact, packing items. It is only through the exuberance of us Wooters that the packing material have become called "Bags of Air."

Hubby successfully Wootalyzed my HS Musical clock while I was out running errands. I'd post a picture but don't have a public place to stash one. He had a difficult time sizing the Woot clock jpeg. And then found out this clock does not come apart. Being tricky he printed the face on card stock, loosened the nut that holds the hands tight, slit the new face with a razor, then slide it over the old face. Did not even need glue and the slit is almost undetectable.

Mine left New Berlin at about the same time. I just checked and it just arrived in Indianapolis about a minute ago. Estimated delivery date has been pushed back a day now . I don't think there is any chance of getting it before I leave for a long weekend Wednesday night.

Edit: After looking at my three most recent bags before this, they were all delivered two days after arriving in Indy, so there may still be hope!

As far as an official word, I do not believe Woot has ever said. However, the general consensus appears to be "no" because it is packing material and not actually an item that would ever be considered a normal purchase. Additionally, I've never seen a report of Woot Customer Service saying "No bag? Not even bags of air?" anytime someone has reported a missing bag--myself included. I think the only reason anyone lists them with their Box of Cats of report is because it just adds to the humor.

Now that I've said all of that, just watch the next woot-off have Bags of Texas Air as the last item...

EDIT:

Well, okay then. Thanks for the update! It sounds like we finally have an official word on the issue: Packing material does not count, period.

Hubby just enlarged it on his printer. It could be a little clearer, but you really need to hold it right in front of your face to notice. Hanging on the wall you can't see it.
He took the picture while I was out and couldn't figure out how to shut down the flash. And I was too lazy to take another or edit the one posted.

AAAAAAARRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH! I am so upset now, mine did the same thing. Considering that it was sitting in WI, and is now in IN, and I live in IL, there is no way they can blame this on the floods in Nashville. All this anicipatorily waiting, checking forums, checking FedEx, is killing me. Maybe I just need to stop until Wednesday checking anything, that way I can't fret about it.
