Strange what's happening with the shipping. I live in KC and mine shipped out of Dallas on Wednesday via FedEx and is being delivered today. I just checked and it arrived at my local FedEx location late last night.

Mine was scheduled for delivery on the 12th, but it showed up yesterday. Still, it is the longest I've had to wait for a woot delivery. And, I'm like a 15 minute drive away from the woot offices.

What messed up shipping. I've had problems with woot's shipping taking forever before (maybe I've just been unlucky, as it seems everyone else has always had great things to say about it), but this is the worst. I'm in Georgia and my delivery date is scheduled for the 15th. It's supposed to be a present, so I'm really hoping it actually gets here.

Finally got mine. Live close to Woot like some others posting. Don't rely on the FedEx website to give any sort of real time tracking. Mine delivered and the website wasn't updated for hours after. I have a LOT and I mean a LOT of Woot purchases and never has it taken this long. But, I finally received, part of an anniversary gift to go with the new car so all is well. Already synced to iTunes and rocking along.

Not to knock other posts, but woot has sometimes had shipping delays then shipments that took a long time to be delivered before. I've had a few of those (maybe 5 out of the 250-ish purchases I've made). I've grown used to this happening and consider it the price I sometimes have to pay to get my items at a much better than average price.

Note: Most of my purchases have been electronics that on the most part, shipped FedEx and not SmartPost.

Figured the shipping thing out!!!
Woot sent it by Fedex smartpost, which just means that fedex sends it part of the way and then transfers it to usps mail.....
getting to the transfer location takes forever, transferring takes forever, then delivery takes forever and a day because it is usps. Lazy!!!
edit..... Ok I take the lazy part back. Just slow!

I live in Austin. Looks like the Ipod was finally transferred to the post office in Austin after a side trip through Houston (Dallas -> Houston -> Austin? wtflolbbq?!?!) Hopefully it will actually get deleivered on Monday, but you never know when it's in the hands of the USPS...

HORRIBLE! I ordered two iPods. When the package arrived, there was only one iPod in the poorly taped box (that was opening on its own). I had to call FedEx to report a claim for the missing iPod, and still do not have any resolution to this matter. Caution to Woot users.

Received both of mine yesterday. One of them seems to be OK but the other one keeps resetting itself automatically if I'm listening to a song and then turn it sideways to use Coverflow. It's like there's something wrong with the acceleromator. Of course I just finished loading about 800 songs onto it...

Anyone else having any issues??

Well, hey, I don't mind the wait. I had been thinking about getting a nano for a while but couldn't justify the $$, so this came up at a perfect time. I could have spent $5 more (plus tax) at Apple and gotten it sooner? Eh. Why spend another $12 when I don't need to? And I like the cut of woot!'s jib - I have enjoyed the site without buying anything, so I'm pleased to finally come across something to make me take the leap.

As for the convoluted shipping paths, I'm surprised that so many of you are surprised. That sort of thing happens all the time. It's like when you fly from NYC to Denver with a change in Atlanta. Does it make sense? NOPE! But that's the cheap flight, so you take it. This was my first woot! and I didn't even wait 'til it showed up to order my second, for what it's worth.

Sorry to hear your order was not as described. The best thing to do, in this case, is likely to get in touch with service@woot.com with your order number and let them know of the problem.

Edit: It looks like this was refurbished, if the first post in the thread is to be believed. The write-up may have added some confusion to that however.

I see on the shipping label for this order that it reads - 8GB iPod Nano, right on the box, for any FedEx or USPS employee to read. Not sure if this is the best of ideas, if you want these to make it to their destination.

Wrong universal dock adapter in the box!

Mine was shipped with a number "17" dock adapter which is not correct for the 5G Nano. The correct dock adapter is number "18" for a 5G Nano. A key difference between the 4G and 5G Nano is the head phone jack is on the opposite side of the base of the Nano.

Just wanted to let people know this and suggest that you check the dock adapter you got with your Woot order before you end up destroying a Universal Dock or the Nano or both by trying to jam them together with the "17" dock adapter which is the wrong one for this generation of Nano.

Got mine for my daughter yesterday. Plugged it into my computer - AVG reported a virus - "Virus identified Worm/Generic_c.ZS" in the c:4\Autorun.inf and in c:4\AutoRun.inf files.

Starting to look around to see if it is really infected.

Does anyone else have this issue?

It may just be a false alarm from an overzealous virus scanner. Have you tried formatting it? Are you able to?

way too long and way too inefficient in the shipping process and then when it finally arrives...

my ipod has been stolen from the box! the poor job woot did taping only once across the bottom of the box, allowed someone to punch thru the bottom and steal the ipod. but they left me the case, headphones and cables.

what does woot do to help me out in this case?

it doesn't help that woot puts the full description of the product in some field that ends up printed in it's entirety on the shipping label, letting everyone who sees the box clearly know what's inside.

after wait way to long to get this thing in the first place, if someone doesn't make this right, it'll be the last thing i order from woot.

Was using AVG 9. Downloaded Microsoft's Malicious Software Removal Tool and scanned the whole PC with the Ipod connected. It removed the problem/virus. Can connect and un-connect now without having the virus warning pop up. If this was really indeed refurbished, you would think that they would have re-installed/updated the firmware on it also.

Correction, FedEx does not care that it's costing FedEx money when we file a claim with them. We do all we can to get packages delivered safely and in full, but we gots to stick to the rules, my friend.
