I'm glad my wife (Tashaorama here) got two (er, four? what do you call it when it's a two-for-one and you "I Want 2!"). It's hot as heck here and comparably priced fans at local retailers are terrible values that tend to break down quickly, don't push as much air as they ought to, and malfunction... We HAD three fans in the house, but one died within a day of use and we couldn't return it. The other two still work, though after less than a few months of real usage one of their rotational mechanisms is starting to die, moving with sort of hitching motion rather than smoothly. And BOTH of them have no protective grille because the cheap plastic assembly snaps broke off when I put them together.
I understand these push a lot of air for their size, and looking at their design (knowing some basic principles of aerodynamics) I can see why. I know it won't have the CFM of a larger unit, but I do think they'll be more than comparable to our current junk fans.
Anyway, just thought I'd chime in with a little excitement at getting in some decent fans, much-needed during the summer months. If these turn out to be as good for their size as the design would suggest, with good durability and all that, I'll almost definitely invest in a couple of the larger varieties from the same manufacturer within a week or two so that we hopefully won't have to suffer junky, cheaply made Wal-Mart crap during what is almost certainly going to be a really hot summer.
This will be the first Woot my wife and I are getting directly from them (we joined the site to nab a pair of Sony Pocket Readers, which was kind of a fiasco with Sony's deplorably slow refurb center shipping). I hope that this experience gives us a taste of what Woot can do when not constrained by shipping factors beyond their control. Here's hoping I can get some more air moving within a few days
