I ordered two of these and they arrived a couple days ago. However, one of them is missing the cord and controller adapter. Does this count as a defect I should contact the manufacturer about, or is this woot's problem?

My headset arrived today (a gift for my husband) and it is missing the cable that attaches it to the controller. Am I the only one that didn't get it or did they all come this way?

I have the same issue as you and apparently many others. This was my first woot order. Not thrilled.

I bought 3. I can hear out of two WITH A LOT of work but no mic. The other does absolutely NOTHING. I've been trying to contact Motorola Customer Service all day. They're phone just rings for about 30 seconds then kicks out to a busy signal. I feel like we all got the "bag o crap"...

so not being familiar with woot, but will they make it right? Or are we at the mercy of the manufacturer?

I got 3 and of the two I've tested, the little volume adjuster/mic piece on one of them is sketchy. You have to press it exactly right or it'll buzz like crazy. Good thing is you really don't need that piece unless you want to lower your volume or mute your mic.

I was having problems with the mic part of this headset like most people on here. There were no instructions and I didn't notice that the cable is different on both ends. I ended up using the smaller part for the ear cup part.

To me it felt like the ear cup part went in all the way at first, but pressing down on the cable a second time pushed it in further. I went back and flipped the cable around and it still works. Not sure if there was some extra plastic in there or something.

As a reference: there were three little notches on the cable sticking out of the ear cup after I pressed the cable in harder. It almost felt like it would break, but hey it works now.

In stock form, mine works pretty well, but it definitely has static when using the connector with the mute/volume switch. Running the cable straight into the controller works much better, and almost entirely removed the static problem for me. If I need to mute, I can pull the cable out just as easily as flip the switch.

For those of you reporting zero functionality, make sure that you've pushed the cable end that attaches to the headset all the way in. With a little bit of force, it fits a little more snug. This was also an initial source of static, but hasn't been a problem since I re-checked the connection.

Per the complaint of the headset being a little too tight... I agree. I've got a pretty big head, so I went straight for the furthest extended setting on the headset. After that started to get sore, I went the other direction with it. I found that having the headset extended out just one click is pretty comfortable. If it continues to be a problem, I'll probably shave the pad on the non-speaker side down a little.

Final verdict: Getting three of these headsets for under $17 was a pretty awesome deal.

The warranty on this thing is through us so I'm not really surprised that Motorola is ignoring a lot of sudden, creepy phone calls.

We do have plennnnty of these still in stock, so we're happily sending replacements to those who email in with problems: service@woot.

I received my headset today.

Everything works great! When using the little mute/volume connector, it does pick up a weird, high frequency sound in the background, but it's nothing very distracting. If needed, just don't use the connector.

Also, I'm only a 19 year old girl, but I'm hearing impaired in one ear thanks to an accident. With this headset I can hear everything fine, even out of my bad ear, which I couldn't do before. This headset is exactly what I needed, even though I don't care about EA or the NFL.

Great headset + Great price = Happy first time Wooter.

Anyone who has a headset that works - Which end of the wire did you put in the headset etc?

I received two, one doesn't work, the other I managed to get the earphones to work but not the mic.

Received our two last week, both work but it does cause static when you even so much as TOUCH the connector that goes to the controller. Otherwise, no problems. Fast shipping, very happy with the price

I got mine I believe on the 1st of July. Haven't had a chance to try it yet except to send a voice message on LIVE. Seems ok. Will post later on how it does when I actually have a convo with someone using them. I do have to agree that it is in fact tight, literally... wish it would loosen up. Might leave it on something and hope it loosens up from being open for a bit.

Ordered one and it does not work. I can hear static if I move the connector around in the adapter but no voice can be heard and no one can hear me.
But ya know...for $5 plus shipping it was worth it to get the adapter part so I can mute my headset so I think I will just junk the other headphones and be more careful buying stuff like that.

Love ya woot!

I got a dead headset too. Called Motorola and they told me they don't have any replacements nor can they offer me a replacement option at this time. I was told to call back in two weeks but even then, they did not offer any sort of replacement or repair option.
I've emailed service@woot.

My headset works just fine. I thought it was broken at first because I didn't have it plugged in correctly.

I like it except that it's kind of tight on my big head (but i'm getting used to it or it's breaking in) and the plug tends to fall out of the controller very easily.

Great woot!!
