Those "two more inches of diagonal viewing" represent a 46% larger screen. So using a cost to screen-area/$ price model, the 10" unit should cost $73. Meh.

Your math is off. It's 36% more which would make the corresponding price about $67.99.

wireless connectivity is what makes it special. i doubt you found a wireless frame for 60. I have a kodak 8" wireless frame and it is pretty sweet. not perfect but i would think a firmware update down the line will be an easy upgrade.

This is soooooooooo sweet!

Got it Saturday, brought it into the office on Monday. Had it up and running in no time.

Using it to display all my kudos received and positive feedback for a job well done. (along with daily news, weather, and local updates via FrameChannel.com app that comes with it)

Co-workers are maaaaaaaaaaaaad.

Thanks Woot.com It will take them and extra $50 - $75 bucks just to catch up. SUCKERS!

Frame stopped working within the first 48 hours. Networking dropped off and won't come back. I asked Woot to take it back and refund my money. Let's see how their customer service is. I will report back after they respond.

Pictures displayed from Framechannel can be saved to the internal memory, which is nice when you want to see the new pics along side your clock/calendar/music.

First, while streaming Framechannel, hit Enter(Pause). It's not entirely obvious, but when you hit Enter(Pause), the media player will pause at the current framechannel picture and allow you to scroll back through a buffer of framechannel pics that have gone by. All the while, new framechannel pics will continue to stream (unknown to you, of course, as you peruse the buffer). At any point in your browsing of the buffer you can hit the Option button to save a picture. Or you can hit Enter(Pause) again to play the framechannel stream from where you left off.

When you hit Option/Save_This_File, what will be saved will not be the original file that you uploaded. Instead, a down-sampled version (800x480 or smaller) will be saved. It's nice, in one respect, in that small file sizes allow you to save more pics; larger pictures do not display w/ any more resolution on a screen that only displays 800x480, max.

You can also play with the "style" button (which looks vaguely like two pictograms on top of each other) while using the slideshow, or calendar, or clock views.

How and when in the setup process did you put in Frame Channel information? My internet icon is grayed out. And while I can ping the frame's ip from my desktop, even picasa doesn't work. My online services menu shows picasa 1,2,3 and nothing about Frame Channel. Any thoughts?

Yep. You're looking at the set-up screen for online services. Framechannel doesn't need any additional configuration under that screen (Picasa does). So skip the setup screen; there is nothing to configure. Once you have your wireless access set up, press the MODE button & go directly to Online Services (the globe icon) & you'll see framechannel as the first option, followed by the three picasa options. Select framechannel. It'll generate a code. Go to your pc and put in that code. voila.

You only need to enter the code the first time. After that, it goes straight to the framechannel stream.

Is it just me, or do these frames eat mp3 files? I've had two of my frames chew up my mp3 folders & corrupt them, one or two folders at a time. I've re-formatted the on-board memory & dumped the contents back on, and things seem to be working fine again...for now (frankly, not enough time has passed for me to really be saying that). Just curious if others have tried loading audio up w/ complete success.

Yeah, it has major WiFi problems. The WiFi module seem to come and go as it pleases, I suspect it has something to do with heat, but hard to say. I usually loose connectivity after an hour or so, than after 12 hours it comes back for an hour or so... It is definitely a product problem. If you unplug for a couple of minutes ( thus doing a power-cycling ), network is back for a while, but less than an hour... Very unpredictable... I started talking to Toshiba about it... I think it's a design problem... Too bad, it's a nice picture-frame otherwise...

Besides the Framechannel ads, the other annoyance to me is that there are always two icons in the upper right corner when using online services. One is to tell you you are using online services (in case you didn't realize you JUST SELECTED an online service) and the other is to show you that wifi is being used (in case you didn't realize that online services use the wifi). Why Toshiba thought it would be a good idea to keep these icons permanently turned on is beyond me. The picture frame should be for viewing pictures, not for status display icons that cover up my pictures.

Also I got 1 dead pixel, boo hoo for me. If you've figured out how to turn off the icons, please post here since I can't find any other info about turning them off in the manual or online. I've tried randomly pressing buttons on the remote but so far no luck. I wrote Toshiba customer support but am fully expecting to get an automated reply that doesn't actually try to answer my question. After I send the second request with the same question I will post back if I get a definitive answer from them.

Update, in case anyone's watching:

Toshiba customer service was excellent! My question was answered by a human within 48 hours. The rep said it was a bug and sent me a "new" firmware which turned out to be the one I already had. I upgraded anyway just in case mine had been broken, but the icons remained. I reported my results to customer service, and within 48 hours a rep CALLED ME ON THE PHONE to further discuss the matter. Turns out the first rep was wrong and the icons remaining on is the bright idea of some Toshiba designer. I still think the icons are stupid, but I was impressed by the customer service.

Anyone having issues with Picasa with this frame? I've got the WiFi all setup and working fine. The Picasa account is configured (directly, not through Frame Channel). Seems like the frame has a mind of its own as to which photos it will display from the Picasa web album. I only have one album and it only has 6 photos in it. Sometimes I get 3 of them to show, other times 4, and not always the same photos. I'm 99% sure the WiFi connection is fine. I never get any indication of a network issue. Firmware says it is V2.05. Wondering if Toshiba has any updates.
