I own two Invicta watches. Got them online. They are always steeply discounted from an absurdly high "list" price. They are surely not designer watches, but they do hit a sweet spot for decent style and heft at a modest price.

Omega is the best watch brand ever. =) Nothing classier than a 18K solid gold Constellation.

I have several large invictas, yet have small wrists. They are all comfortable and do not feel heavy on the wrist. I got my first invicta from woo, a Speedway II, and it is still the best deal I found on an invicta. This is also a great deal, especially in the stainless. I find invicta's 18 carat gold plate to look a but fake, that notwithstanding these are excellent, durable watches.

Here's a warning about Invicta - their warranty is a scam. I really liked my Speedway II, until the top pusher fell out at 9 months. I went to send it back, that's when I saw Invica requires you include a check for $28 for return shipping. Againt my better judgement I sent it in anyway.

I get a voicemail a few weeks later telling me to call their billing department. Turns out they want another $15 to fix the watch. They claim that the warranty only covers the movement. I told them not to fix it, not to cash my check and don't bother sending it back. Of course they cashed the check and sent it back so I spent $28 for nothing. To add insult to injury they bent the pusher so I couldn't even attempt to fix it myself.

I would buy any timepiece for one reason only, and it's not style, fashion or price. Why is it nearly impossible to get a spec on accuracy? Typically, I couldn't find anything about this in the Woot features list or in 3 pages of 'discussion'. I'm outta here.

This watch reminds of the U-Boat collection that I'll never be able to afford. I totally jumped on this baby, since large avante gard watches rule. Also, for people out there looking for watch deals, check out http://dynamitetime.com/ . They've got 12 or so watches that rotate around for dirt cheap. CHeers!

BEWARE INVICTA WATCHES.

I purchased one of their high end models for my father for fathers day, within two weeks the hands had fallen off the watch and the gears broke. When I took it back to the place I got it from (local watch/jewelery shop) the guy that was behind the counter didn't seem surprised, and issued me a full refund, with which I bought a Citizen. (forgive me, don't recall the models and I'm too lazy to look them up)

Spending 600 bucks on a watch to have the face fall off the bloody thing is unacceptable.

BEWARE INVICTA. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

I have this watch in a different color. It is HUGE and of excellent quality. Invicta makes great watches that are of high quality. It has an infused crystal which is scratch resistant and almost shatter proof. This is a great price. I got mine for 79.99 from world of watches. It is heavy but not overly so. I get LOTS of compliments on my watch.

I echo the complaints of others regarding the quality, or lack thereof, of Invicta. I too have personal experience of purchasing an Invicta watch (here on Woot!) and would not do it again.

That said the fashion statement made by and oversized watch dial is attractive and no doubt many of you fellow Wooters will fall in love with the look and price but later be disapointed with the product when it does not hold up.

There is another potential problem if you want a massive watch but do not have enormous Popeye wrists to support it and you wear your watch on your left wrist. The crown protective mechanism will rub against the back of your hand constantly causing a bloody sore to develop there which is neither attractive nor comfortable.

Other massive dial watchmakers like Tauchmeister (see: http://www.longislandwatch.com/Tauchmeister/Tauchmeister_Watches-1.htm ) address this by placing the crown protective mechanism at 10 o'clock which makes much more sense for righty wearing a massive dial watch like this.

Junk. Ugly junk at that.

Invicta essentially makes knock off watches. Many of their QVC watches copy the look of good watches, like a Rolex or something. Japanese quartz movement? C'mon, this is a child's watch. Many good things on Woot. This ain't one of them. Save up a bit and buy a good watch.

Definitely an Amazon inspired woot.

These oversized flieger style watches made sense when you had to strap it over your flight suit to use it. But on a regular wrist, they just look like you're a goofy kid wearing daddy's watch.

I am one of those "Watch-Guy-Spoon-Savant" guys I guess. I own an Invicta pro diver and it is my everyday watch. Things to know about this watch and indeed any other watch:

1. Crystal - Mineral Crystals are the easiest to scratch. They are generally harder to break though because they are not as brittle. I always go for a Sapphire crystal because they are, IMHO the best combination.

2. "Japanese Quartz Mvmnt" for Invictas are the same quartz movements that Citizen watches use. At least as of 2 years ago they were.

3. Invicta customer service is 50/50. Amongst "Watch Geeks" they have a terrible reputation for service but we are comparing them to Rolex, Omega, Patek Phillipe, etc. I have not found a single decent local watch repair store that cannot fix an Invicta.

I bought my Invicta based off of another friends experience who I did two tours in Afghanistan with. His watch survived several mortar concussions and combat conditions and never lost a beat.

I have the same watch. A Swiss Auto Movement (SIA is the manufctr), Sapphire Crystal, Pro-Diver. Invicta 9937

Invicta does make low end watches. They also make some very nice high end watches. Look for the Swiss Automatic Movements and the Sapphire Crystals. You will be surprised probably.

just to put in my two cents,

invicta has a horrible, horrible so called 1 year "warranty"

bought one of their "$100" watches as a gift (it was like a $500 msrp that was on sale for $90). within about a month, the watch would freeze up (literally stop ticking) for maybe twenty minutes, then resume operation.

thought it was no problem because i can mail in on the warranty, but if you read carefully, you're responsible for shipping it to them ($10), then including a $25 check for their "shipping and handling."

i called them and was told all their phone lines were busy, instructed to leave my phone number, and was promised someone would call me back within a business day. a week later, no call.

had to call back multiple times to reach an actual person, who basically told me the $25 was to cover "their expenses in the repair process."

all told and done, it seemed unreasonable to have to pay more than a third of the cost ($35/$90) to replace a faulty product they sent me. the watch itself was less than impressive compared to how it looked online, and because i didnt want to pay another $35 to invicta so they can send me another possibly defective product.

A-- would not buy again.

Jeus wrote:when the watch battery dies does it need to be sent out to keep the warranty like fossil watches or can anyone replace the battery?

According to http://goo.gl/0v79,

Each genuine Invicta timepiece purchased from an Elite Invicta Retailer (not woot!) is in original and tested condition and should only be serviced by qualified professionals at the place of purchase or at the Invicta Service Center during the warranty period in accordance with the terms of the standard 1-Year Invicta Warranty and the optional 4-year Extended Warranty.

If Invicta timepieces are purchased from sources other than retailers recognized as Elite Invicta Retailers (woot!) or are serviced or repaired by unqualified third parties, they may be subject to alterations from their original condition that are beyond the control of Invicta Watch Group.

As Invicta Watch Group cannot guarantee the quality standards of an altered timepiece, neither of the above-mentioned Invicta Warranties will be valid. In such cases the purchaser has to rely on the seller's warranty.

(Plus you have to pay to ship it to them and pay $28 for them to ship it back to you, but the charge for changing the battery is only $5!)

They totally negate the advantage of the huge face with tiny hands in a non-contrasting color. If you are going to make a face this big for me to see without my glasses, at least also make the hands huge, like Big Ben. Otherwise, what's the point?

Buyer beware! At their own website, watchgeeks.net, Invicta gets lots of customer service complaints. BTW, if you need your watch serviced, it'll cost you. A minimum of $28 dollars. Buy this one and if it breaks, throw it away. Of course because of said complaints watchgeeks is now a closed for viewing to only those who register. If you do register, don't complain or you'll get banned, as that's how they keep the kool-aid drinkers drinking. You can go to watchlords.net though and read all about them.

What's the deal with this "protected crown"? Is that a recent trend with wrist watches? It seems to add additional bulk for a minor purpose.

Fashion. The trend and popularity of "Russian Diver" type watches. I have a "Lefty" version of a russian diver and it is very comfortable because all the big buttons and crown protector are on the "up arm" side of the watch when I wear it on my left wrist.

There is a spec for accuracy... watches called "chronometer" are certified to be accurate. But unfortunately the certification costs a couple hundred dollars that is added onto the price, so unless you are looking into a $2K or higher watch, the economics just dont make sense. Several luxury watch companies like Omega have two versions of a watch ; one that is chronometer and another that is not. Exact same watch, sans one little emblem and a couple hundred dollars.

I have the brown version of this watch with a blue face..tThe crown screws completely off, so the hinge or strap keeps it attached where it won't get lost. There is actually a small crown underneath the cap that you use to change date/time. The screw-down crown is much more water resistant than a rubber gasket.
