Hey, TT, wanted to ask you. Do residents of Las Vegas call it Vegas? Or do they always say Las Vegas? Like here, only nonresidents would ever say Cincy. (Shudder)

"What's in a name? That which we call a rose
By any other word would smell as sweet."

I have heard it said both ways. I had a room-mate long ago from Hamilton near Cincinnati and he called it Cincy.

Like I said, only people who don't live here would call it Cincy. I thought I read the same thing about Las Vegas once and was just wondering.

Well, another day has passed and I didn't use algebra once.

True natives (very few) and very long time residents actuly refer to there area, ie "the county, the city, north town" and so on. Las Vegas the city is actuly a very small area down town. Most of the "Strip" is in unincorporated Clark county.
I live in Henderson south of the valley.

It wouldn't be so bad if the zoning commissions did their job and kept a nice balance, but half the time they see the tax bucks and nothing else.

Oh, yeah, forgot about that. It'll be interesting to see how they're going to solve that problem. Not just you, but half the country south of you depends on the same system, doesn't it?

Money has been set aside to build a pipeline to the northeast of us. But the public knows nothing of this yet. First they will do some clever PR campaign and then save the day for the poor taxpayer with the horded funds.

Edit; P.S. Did I mention the water company is a private for profit company?

Who's holding the hoarded funds, the water company or a government entity?

Funny thing is, in this state it's amazing how funds earmarked for one thing suddenly end up in the "general fund." And once money goes in the general fund, no one sees it again.

The field for the Desperately Seeking Monkeys Prize was a crowded one, but it wasn't really a close race. One look at this "effort" from tinklybear settled the matter post haste.
