Perhaps, but I am not talented enough to even win the monkey prize in the contests, so I have to be satisfied with being lucky enough to have received one in my first b-o-c. Embarrassed

have you looked at the pictures that have won? er, present company excluded, talent isn't an issue. not even for the $$$prizes. ability to land on the pointy end of a dart, now that wins with woot. now that certain people are trying shamlessly to win it, there are lots of really bad entries that can get the cruddy calendar next week.

I am with you on that one. It is too bad it has been won, but not sent. Now the stock has been depleted.

I just don't want a freakin' Geddes calendar. Its sweetness is giving me a toothache already. Bleck.

If this is woot's incentive to have p-choppers create higher-end work, that's too bad. The dregs are the best part of the contest.

They dorked me twice... then to add insult to injury, I make a joke about getting a big 'ol TV in lieu of a monkey and the next B-o-C someone else gets a big 'ol TeeVee.

In addition, no one has been savaged the way I was by Woot in their awarding a monkey (my first).

There are many other reasons.

The most important:

Future Monkeys for all of those reaching for.... the bottom!

yeah, you can't tell me they can't get more monkeys.
we all KNOW they can, but sadly, they have the Geddes calendars in their possession already.
But they could save those to hose some wooters in the next bag of youknow...

Or maybe it's no fun to rip on someone if you know they were shooting for teh monkey.

It takes away even that false sense of superiority for the person(s) making such claims.

they need to hire people to do the busywork and bring back the inspiration that attracted all of us.

um, IMO.

Persistence of Casio

Woot Like an Eagle

Woot Trek

And so on, and so forth:

Cities of the future will make good use of Casio's water-resistant technology...

Finally, a belt worth the beatings...

Just a few more seconds . . .

Um, in the future, the watch can get, like, real big, and carry people around and stuff...

Alarm is set for 4:20...

We usually try to spread out the winnings to new people, but there are times when past winners just keep coming up with gold. Hope everyone had fun. We look forward to seeing entries next week from new and old users.

Glaringly omitted from these entries are a series of great ones by mnementh. Each week for the last many, we've had to desperately try not to give mnementh more prizes, as he submits many well-done entries. This week is no exception.

To honor mnementh for his toil and hardship, he is being inducted as the premier member of the Woot Contest Hall of Fame.

In lieu of a trophy, we are shipping mnementh ONE HUNDRED PRIORITY PUCKS, which we hope he will use to construct his own trophy (and take pictures for us all to see). In a future version of the site, and on induction of additional members (and we have a few in mind already), we will likely have a page displaying the Hall of Fame members along with the trophies they construct from their pucks. A few of mnementh's best entries from this week:

We're ending the contest early this weekend. The pictures have been reviewed, ballots have been stuffed, and judges have been bribed. It's time to announce the winners:

Third place, winner of $20

Torso and legs sold separately.

Second place, winner of $50
BrakX with Crappy Presents[/size:b070ed8e21]

We think the Box of Crap should've been #2.

First place, winner of $100
mnementh with The Last Woot Sale[/size:b070ed8e21]

It had to happen sooner or later- we ran out of speakers and pucks.

Congratulations to the winners. Hope everyone had fun, and we won't see you for the next contest.
