lkjacobs wrote:Yes, indeed it has. And, for good reason. Woot earned the comments here. Why isn't the forum instead full of comments about how people love their new headphones? Easy - almost nobody has them yet! Why? Because Woot shipped them late and shipped them using a slow delivery service.

Let's cut through the supportive comments (are you guys hoping that Woot will appreciate your positive comments and give you a freebie?) and get to the meat. The biggest complaints on this forum relate to things that would have cost Woot nothing more to have done right. There's no additional cost to honestly tell buyers that shipping is via SmartPost versus FedEx Ground. There's no additional cost to have put a note on the listing page that they just finished a Woot-Off so shipments may be delayed a couple days. So, for those of you who defend Woot by saying that costs would rise if they listened to the complaints, you're as full of crap as the famous bags sold here.

That's all true, but they have been quoted here as saying it was an honest mistake. Why can't we just leave it at that?

One cool feature I found with the case for these is the rectangular space in the center is the PERFECT size for an iPod Classic.

My headphones, like everybody else's, were shipped on 8/30. I live in Austin which is about 3 and a half hours south from Dallas where these are being distributed. It says the estimated delivery date is 9/4. To boot, Fedex decided to go past Austin and take my headphones to Houston which is about 3 hours south of Austin. Although I was a bit distraught about the lack of communication by woot!, I'll give them a pass this time around since there was a 3 day woot! off beforehand so they were backed up with shipping and whatnot. My only suggestion to woot! is to never ship Fedex SmartPost again. Weak.

lkjacobs - I think I speak for 99.9% of the people here when I say: Get over it.

Or would you simply prefer: Sheet happens.

How about: dodtracker.com You'll find 100+ sites there who all aspire to be woot. Please, stop your bitching, accept their apology, step back and realize that slightly delayed shipping is far from the worst thing that could happen to you in life.

Unless of course you have some potentially fatal disease and these headphones have the magical ability to cure you. If that's the case, can I have yours if they don't get to you in time?

I was hoping to get these before leaving for my trip on Friday which was mainly the reason for my purchase but now I will get them like 3 days after I get back. I wish they had an option to upgrade the shipping because I would have gladly paid more to get these on time. Oh well

really? good for you. i've sent them a few emails complaining about them lying about the shipping method, and only got a response that was along the lines of, " oh yeah, we did that. too bad for you"

Companies usually reimburse something like the SHIPPING COST when the SHIPPING was WRONG. I wouldn't have bothered to pay for these if I knew it was via Smartpost because of my upcoming vacation.

Hmm, interestingly enough my tracking changed. They were originally slated to be delivered on the 7th, but now it says the 4th. Happy Birthday to me (it's the 5th in case anyone wants to send cake).

Many other DOD sites do similar things.

But I agree, Woot shouldn't charge until the actual ship date, but I don't think that is going to change.

If I was angry enough to contact the card services division of Visa it would have to change if they wanted to continue accepting credit card payments. The way around this is that they could only take PayPal or similar payments.

Woot!!! I hate you so much. I ordered those 2 weeks before my big trip. I am leaving tonight, my headphones are only a few miles away but they won't let me pick them up. they will be delivered when I am gone tomorrow.

Seriously, what is the return policy??

I don't think I will buy anything from woot again. There are many many sides that have same kind of deals.

Mine are now two hours away - eagerly waiting their arrival!

While I'm still pissed about the long shipping time I guess I'm either not mad enough or just too lazy to do anything about it. Oh well.

Just received mine in the mail 2 days earlier than expected. That's the good thing about Fedex/UPS. They usually deliver earlier than the estimated date. On to the first impression...

The box/case is very aesthetically pleasing and well constructed to boot. The mesh pouch as seen in the case is actually held on by velcro so you can remove/adjust it as you see fit. The accessories/batteries come in this pouch. The headphones themselves feel very well made and look very good IMO. Putting these on is like having that pillow on your bed that's better than the rest on your ears. Very comfortable and can only become more comfortable as the foam breaks in. I could listen to music for hours(or days?) on end. The sound on these is quite impressive. I'm not audiophile but unless you're conducting the Trans-Siberian Orchestra (and even then such a person would be pleased), you're going to be very happy with them. The sound is clear and crisp and the base is very good. These were well worth the wait. I'm not even mad (not that I was before :P) at woot! anymore. Offering these phenomenal headphones for such a low price was well worth any inconveniences I've experienced thus far. Fantastic.

I myself have been a wooter for many years and am disappointed in this purchase. I am heading overseas today and no headphones (the reason for my purchase). Yes, should I have spent 3x the money at a carp store?? Nope - just a full bowl of disappointment.

Guess the sound of the engines as I fly across the Atlantic will soothe my pain...

25-49 woots and you're disappointed? Did you really, truly expect these within a certain timeframe? C'mon, you're a wooter, you know better.

Have a nice (noisy) trip!

I'll pass on the pics- I'm not very "photo-hygenic".

I must say these things do sound good. I can tune out my wife from time to time. They are certainly better than those white Ipod buds I've become so used to.

The Bass is great. There is a bit of static or electric sort of sound when there is no audio input- I think it's part of the noise can'x process though.

Since it is buyer's remorse, your only option would be to sell it on eBay.

Woot Link

And by the way, I have dealt with many of the other DOD sites, most of them suck with shipping and normally take at least a week to ship out and then starts the SmartPost/Mail Innovations/USPS flat rate wait.

Mine left Dallas on 8/30 went 1,000 miles to New Berlin Wisconsin, and will continue for 500 more miles to Lexington, KY. Dallas to Lexington is only 800 miles. Smartpost effectively doubled the transit!

I would hope they have a great contract rate with Fedex. My law firm can overnight stuff for like $5...certainly they're locked in with a nice discount. I honestly would have paid the extra $4-5 to bump it up to 2 or 3 day shipping so I could have them for my flight to Vegas on Saturday.

these just arrived for me.

Sound isn't that good, to be honest, it sounds really muffled/muddy, hopefully this will get better after i let them burn in a bit?

noise cancellation is decent. The case is nice, and i like that the cord is detachable

Just got mine too, 4 days ahead of schedule. I can't really complain -- I've listened to 2 or 3 songs so far and I like the sound and comfort so far. These are my first noise canceling headphones, so I don't have much to compare to. But the sound is as good as my regular Bose headphones and there is definitely less noise (and they were about $40 cheaper than those were).

The only thing that bothers me a little is the volume control on the cord. I just generally don't like to have it there, as they seem to break easily. But the cord is detachable, so it shouldn't be hard to replace if I need to (in fact, I suspect I could probably just use a regular stereo cord if I want).

All in all, a good purchase.

Thanks for the tip, I was at first trying to dig my fingernails underneath it.

I have to admit, I love the sound cancelling via the microphone inside on these. I turn it on, and I can't even hear my computer fans. A very audible difference.
