Either way, my years with woot are over. I have sat through more than one long wait for shipping from woot, and this will be my last.



We can usually only cancel orders within the first 24 hours, sometimes later than that depending. Once it's been processed to ship (not necessarily SHIPPED), we are no longer able to. And this is because the labels have already gone out to the warehouse or the order has gone out to the vendor.

If you refuse delivery, it will come back to us and we'll refund you. It's a longer process, but there's not any "ha ha you're totally stuck with this now".

PS. To everyone angry- I have made sure others see the complaints here and via email. We realize that communication may not have been so obvious on this one (please always check STAFF quality posts!), and we did ship some early orders out later than predicted. We will learn from this, as I can promise you it was about as fun for us answering the same emails over and over as it was for you to fret about shipping.

Yes, except new egg ships either the same day or the next day. Their system is too fast to stop it. My problem was this was sitting in a warehouse for 4 days after I requested it canceled and they still didn't do anything about it.

Now if newegg has a delay in shipping out your item, ie due to not having stock available, which I have experience with them, they will happily cancel your order and refund your payment, which I have also experienced. In fact they send you and email giving you this option. That is what's called "customer service" in the sales industry.

Leaving the customer high and dry is what's called a "homeskizzle move" in the sales industry.

If you know what homeskizzle means in woot censor laguage, you may laugh now.

Ok, so a few issues with this statement.

How are we supposed to know within 24 hours if you have messed up our shipping when we wouldn't know for 5 days that you messed it up? I was an early buyer so I had no indication. In fact, we were told everything was fine for early buyers initially. It wasn't until after the 5 day shipping window was up that early buyers found the item may not ship in time.

Why does a label going to a warehouse stop you from canceling a shipment?

Refusing delivery causes the item to be shipped back by the slowest means possible, often taking weeks. Then you have to process the refund and we all know how fast you are at processing things. This leaves me not having the product, or my money for upwards of a month.

I'm glad that you "will learn from" these mistakes that leave us, the customer, suffering the consequences from, instead of making it right. I wasn't even offered a refund on shipping.

Companies have problems all the time. They make mistakes. What makes them a good company is how they deal with these problems and mistakes. This was not dealt with well. In my case, you closed my account at my request and left it at that. Not even an attempt to make it right... and you didn't even actually close it. Look! I'm here. Typing and posting! Bravo.

I am pretty sure 90% of the cellphone fleabay crap I buy from Hong Kong gets shipped faster (and cheaper) than this order did. I am thoroughly dissatisfied; more-so by the lack of an email explaining that shipping would be delayed than by the actual delay itself.

Since they are obviously super busy, why can't Woot! pay a buck or two to have some guy in India write a "Your order may not ship in 5 days" email to everyone who purchased these? It's pretty arrogant to assume I, the buyer, will want to get off my lazy finger and browse some forum just to find out when my purchase will actually ship. All you Woot! fanboys can flame me all you want, I just expect that when I submit my CC info and Woot! and I enter into a contract, if one side would renege or modify that contract, the other party would be contacted.

Who knew ages ago, someone created a cliche just for how long it would take buckyballs to ship after ordering them from Woot!...

Balls came in yesterday. Can't seem to put 'em down. One word of advice: Be very careful when playing that you don't lose one!

When pulling them apart, one came loose, fell on the ground, and took a good hour to locate. And you can't make nearly as many cool shapes when you are missing one.

P.S. This thread is almost at 1000 posts! Thats crazy!

They were said to be delivered on the 20th and I received them yesterday. I heard someone come to the door and drop off a package and I exclaimed "woot!".

To make things perfectly clear here.. The balls themselves are less dangerous than opening the package.. I found we needed to purchase band aids..

All in all they are fun. Although, those videos of people making nifty looking things are waay harder than it looks.

I got mine a couple of days ago and have been wrenching them into all sort of weird configurations when I'm not fruitlessly trying to get them back in cube shape again. These things are seriously fun - I had intended to keep the second set to give as a gift to someone down the road, but now I'm thinking that maybe I should put the two sets together for even more fun.

Just got mine yesterday and haven't put them down yet, they're a blast. I wish I hadn't agreed to split an order with a coworker.

A couple of tips, if you lose one, you can buy 5 replacements for $1 (like $3.50 with shipping) here.

And for those of you struggling to get it back into the cube, practice this video for an hour or two, and you'll get it down. Make sure you alternate wrapping to keep the grid formation, as they suggest!

Am loving these things..
also use something like a plastic credit card (ofcourse dont use your card as it will wipe it clean).. i was able to put them back into a cube using a credit card.. start with a single string and keep piecing them together and dividing by teh card..
ex a single string to a string of two side by side that you fold onto to get a 4 a side etc..

Bottom line: they really are fun to play with...just got one though.. and woot has run out of them so no replacements but rather refunds.. this sucks..

The cube is easy. Just build a band with the balls squarely spaced 6 wide. Fold 6 rows back then fold 6 more back the opposite way (like making a paper fan). One more fold and there is a cube.

Of course I dropped the stupid things and lost two of them so now my cube is missing two.
