Thanks guys, I can do that. Appreciate your feedback. MissD

Just in under the deadline, but truely GREAT!
Now that the contest is over I'll ask my question. This is the image I wanted to use I wanted of course to just put Charlize Theron face on the "mother" protecting her child. Only problem, because it was a very low quality newspaper print and not the best scan in the world, I could never even get the images CLOSE to the same. Any ideas? Difficulty I am using Photoshop 5.0 LE

I am not familiar with LE. I assume it doesn't have all the features of a "normal" photoshop. For a novice, you could try "Auto Levels." If you are skilled, you could use "levels" or "curves." I would make the background darker. The gun is going to still meld into the picture. She definitely could become more contrasty to show the wrinkles in her clothing. I would clone out all type on the image and retype (helvetica, gill sans or arial) it in to be more clear.

Thanks! Just poking a little fun. We all look forward to Monday's judging, and while we sometimes feel overlooked or disagree with the judges, I learn something new in Photoshop each week or get some much-needed practice turning ideas into a finished image. I'm not saying that a cash prize wouldn't be welcomed, but the fun, the experience and seeing all other the great entries adds up to a hefty consolation prize. Oh, and yeah, you guys should bring back the Monkey. It's personal.

I bet someone else got it - but that would be Lil Jimmy Norton - he of "Monster Rain" fame ;)

I wanted to do one with a road, or a house, with a great big power line, monster power and light company. I just couldn't come up with time or enough effort to locate a good source image of either the road or the big-assed wire.
YEAH! "Clevercalendar" just sounds dopey.
May I just reiterate: Monkey.
