I used this very same model last night to cook up some steaks. It really does a great job and no kitchen should be without one.

I have one of these. Great for grilling, sandwiches and pancakes. Don't use Pam or it gets gooey and hard to clean. Grills fast cuz 2 sided, so pay attention!

What does Woot consider as "refurbished"? I mean, where do they get used Griddlers?

Panini = a traditional, small Italian sandwich filled with meat, cheese, grilled vegetables, etc., and toasted with a press.

i have a stove top panini press which was around $80 i loves it but i wish i had one of these instead

I got this at the last Woot-off and it has been a hit in our house. We have made great panini's basically by using great bread, cheese and your choice of meat. The griddle (it unfolds to provide two separate grills and there are smooth surface grill tops included) make it a snap for great breakfast. The plates clean easily and it has become a mainstay of weekend breakfasts. Highly recommended.

Cuisinart is expensive stuff so it would have to be used to be that price.. but ya i'm not sure about buying a used sammich maker either

Panini can refer to:

* Pāṇini, 5th century BC Sanskrit grammarian
* the plural of Panino, a type of Italian sandwich
* a zoological tribe containing chimpanzees and their relatives (usually considered obsolete)
* Panini (stickers), a brand of collectible stickers, created by the same company as Panini Comics
* Panini Comics, a publisher of comic books and magazines
* Giovanni Paolo Panini, an Italian artist

I absolutely love this thing, but don't have a need for another. Just tossed a steak in it last night. The only problem is that if using it for sandwiches it really needs to be thicker bread slices since they get squished no matter how I try to do it.

The biggest factor for me is that it's super easy to clean since the two grill/griddle plates pop right off.

I don't understand this. It's a great price, great manufacturer so Woot must have many of them. I have the same model and love it. I paid $99.99 on sale over a year ago.

Just assume I know nothing about the product or I'm misinformed. It's easier on everyone that way.

Fantastic tool and it opens up so you can use as a flat griddle. Be sure to remove bones if using for steaks or chops.

Bought one of these a month ago and now I am back in good graces with my teenagers. They love Reuben sandwiches, pancakes and burgers cooked on the griddle. I paid a bit more for a refurb somewhere else, but this is $$ well spent.

We've had one of these for years and use it for all kinds of things besides making pannini. Heats up fast and if really easy to clean.

I missed this one last time it came up. Just ordered one... makes me annoyed though since I just bought a George Foreman grill with removable plates as I'd given up on it coming up again. Oh well, the wife can have that one in the divorce. ;)

I bet this one will actually do a decent job at bacon and let me cook more than 3 strips at a time.

Bacon is best cooked on a sheet pan in the oven

If you like Paninni ...

... and you have enough room for a specialized tool such as this then this is a good deal. Better yet if you have been waiting to use a certain coupon.

Great little machine, with the Griddle it is great for pancakes and the grill is excellent for sandwiches or meats. These normally sell for about $100+ so this is a great deal. We love ours.

Suddenly... that banana panini song comes to mind.

Hello Wooters!

I picked one of these up for the female companion in my life, and let me tell you... it was well worth the $39.99 + $5 (S/H)!

After waiting the normal amount of time for the snail to carry the box to me, we quickly ripped it open and set up the Griddler. It took some time to figure out how to operate the complex controls, but after reading the manuals right-side up and up-side down, we got it figured out.

Seriously though - here's a few Pro's and Con's:

Pros:
1) It works as you'd expect. The controls allow for a nice range of heat so you can prepare foods the way you'd like.
2) Grease drains off into the cups (see cons), and the plates are super easy to clean (by hand).
3) Most importantly, food tastes great!

Cons:
1) The grease drainage isn't what I hoped for. You almost need to prop up the back of the grill for proper drainage. During the last Woot, someone recommended using towels under the grill - very good suggestion!

2) The plates, while superb and easy to clean, do not clean well in a dishwasher. At least not in mine. For some reason I could wipe them clean with a paper towel, but they'd not wash clean in the dishwasher.

Not really a Con:
The only taste issue with this is that you're draining away all the fat and juices that help give meat flavor while cooking. Season well, and you'll love it.
