I got one of these teapots as a gift with some of the primula blooming teas.

I don't know if this one include the blooming tea... but that is what made it so otterific. The tea was actually a bunch of leaves and flowers woven together and dried into a ball so that it when allowed to steep in the hot water, it actually made a very pretty spectacle!

The thing is that is SEEMS fragile. It may not actually be fragile, but when the teapot is that lightweight you treat it like it is--the glass doesn't seemed particularly high quality.

Also, for what its worth, the glass storage jars are pointless heh.

I wouldn't recommend storing your tea in the glass jars though because they should be kept away from light in opaque containers. IMO, not a great deal for the price.

I used thus to serve travel on the Playa at Burning Man. Excellent. And the jars are UV protected so you can store years in them!

I think you got the price wrong .. they are about the same cost as last time.

Absolutely NOT. Notice the part of the text where it said you can't use hot water directly?
Don't know why they think it's stove top safe. Unless they mean the stuffing

Unfortunate that this isn't heat-safe glass.

tjhofmockel wrote:This is a great tea set. The pot is stovetop safe, and each of the tea blossoms is reusable 3 to 4 times. Just the tea itself costs over 70 dollars if you buy straight from the vendor, and the pot and containers are 50 or more. We have a set of our own and have given one as a gift. The only caveat is that the clear containers are actually not good for storing the tea, sunlight is bad for teas.

The jars are clear, but they do block UV, so they're safe for storing tea. But, the lids don't fit quite right so I couldn't recommend them for it.

Love it woot! Expand your mind tea haters - this is one of those great items that have endless decoration possibilities. Tea flowers become decorative in clear canisters, teapot becomes fancy lemonade with lemon slices floating like the commercials - or it could be a unique vase...

Touché about the UV protection, I missed that part. I did buy it for $14.99 though, plus $5 of course. It was not the same exact one, but similar with the same tea.

Aw, too bad I missed this. I've been wanting one of these teapots for a while and this looks like a pretty good deal.

Tea Never really expires as long as its sealed tight with no air, humidity or light!

Manufacturers put a 2 to 3 year expire date only as a guide since most consumers will not accept a food product without one.

I got mine today at lunch time and right away brewed up a flowering green tea, its amazingly delish and so pretty.

Mine arrived today (amazingly fast shipping for a Woot-Off item), the main set claims the tea is best by March 15, 2011. The tea doesn't really expire, it just goes "not as good."

I cleaned the pot and brewed up a pot of green tea with orange zest. Quite tasty with a little milk and honey. Doing good stuff for my sore throat, too.
