Wow...just got back, couldn't imagine how many people are crying about this one.

I do have to say, as much as I like to cook and as much as I highly regard Shun items, this cutting board is overpriced.

What was that BT Barnum quote that was not from him but from Joseph ("Paper Collar Joe") Bessimer?

Oh yeah, "There's a sucker born every minute"

Thank goodness for them!!!

How do you have "Chef" in your name if you're going to complain about high quality kitchen items?

Or do you have "Chef" in your name to be ironic, like, only eats McDonalds?

$60 for a piece of wood?

You are just going to hack away at it with your $200 knives.

So ridiculous, Woot.

Possibly worth it, if you're going to use it to construct a few 1 piece table tennis rackets, unless you can get the wood cheaper elsewhere.

My mother has a Hinoki Wood Cutting board given to her in the mid-1980's by my Uncle coming back from Japan. It is an amazing cutting surface and is now so 'wanted' by family members that we kid her that she should put it in her will. There's a reason why these have a lifetime warranty.

This is a seriously nice piece of wood. Comparing these to 'average wood cutting boards' is like comparing Oak furniture to particle board.

no matter where you go....there you are!
