We have a batch of these model laptops at my work. They are durable and work well. Only problem is that they are really slow by today's standards.

The D600 is a dated but workhorse laptop. I've owned several and loved them. Great for running linux or Win 7 pro (if you add RAM). Not great for gaming, but a good general laptop that's quite upgradeable.

Um... seriously? A 6 year old laptop for $189? I can get stacks of these for free from my work because we just junk/recycle them.

The IRS allows you to depreciate computers over 5 years.

That means this one is already worth....nothing.

Still using older model D500 i believe it was 6 years old. D600 is a nice improvement from that previous.

Just imagine it's a 5 pound netbook with 2 hours of battery life.

I have a D630 given to me by my work. it has a 20G harddrive and XP. this would have been an upgrade

awww... I had one of these for college back in the day.

Buy a refurbed netbook. You'll be MUCH happier. I have the D610 (a "step up") from this laptop as a work PC. It's a MAJOR POS. I'm pretty sure this one would be even worse.
