Okay, the moment you've all been waiting for…

The Crap has landed!

The weight matched exactly the SmartPost weight. The box was a plain, unbranded carton & arrived in perfect condition.

Inside, untouched by human hands for over TWO WEEKS and hundreds of miles… CRAP! Ap, ap, ap, ap, ap!

Unboxed & rested after it's long journey through space & time, The Crap is ready to divulge the Secrets of the Wootiverse!

PAY CLOSE ATTENTION!

EeeeEeeee! EeeeeYaaa! EeeeeYaaa!

Facsinating! You don't say? I - I always suspected, but… this is SO MUCH more otterriffic than I could ever conceive!!

Imagine if man's mind were advanced enough to comprehend the VAST  implications of that concept?! I feel humbled...

Obviously, from the photos you can see that my Bounding Obnoxious Calamity was pretty much exactly the baseline craposis. And well worth the eight bucks, I might add! No complaints whatsoever! I'll be waiting to score again the next Woot-Off!   (=^D

For completists, here is an inventory list of the not-so-random crap.

  • 6x Jumble Calendars (My van pool riders gobbled these right up - eagerly!)
  • 3x Golds Gym Totes
  • 1x shirt.woot kids size 8 (Grandson will get, but I think he has one already)
  • 1x green vino tote
  • 1x Screaming Monkey garbed in blue camo cape & hood.

Here's a close up of the shirt design.

I remember seeing this one, but can't recall the context of the design. As a shirt designer & printer from way back, I like the design & quality of the piece!

Be safe out there.

I've used the indoor compostor for about 2 years and it's really does work. You need to follow the directions and if you have problems the forum is quite helpful. I do have it in the garage because it can get unpleasant if you screw up.

First Bountiful October Cornucopia!I received the same things as pretty much everyone else with one exception.

8 Calender Game thingys
3 Gym Bags
Screaming Woot monkey with leopard cape
Kids tshirt (monkey scientist of some sort)
and a box containing 4 new 3d Pokemon puzzles.

Not a bad haul. I would say the screaming monkey is the highlight.

It's here!!

- 6 or 8 2010 calendars (seriously, how many did they have?)
- black kids t-shirt with dinosaurs on it (the shirt is black, not the kid wearing it - well, not necessarily)
- Useless EA Sports/NFL/Motorola Xbox 360 headset missing cable and adapter that plugs into controller
... and a screaming monkey.

Weak.

So, without me going through the last 50 pages of bounty of cordless-headsets posts, has anyone actually figured out a use for these Motorola headsets that came without cables? I was hoping maybe a standard 3.5mm audio cable would let them work as earphones at least, but no way.

Maybe I should just go get tickets to the next Bears home game and wear them. I could then try to convince people around me that I am listening to the coach chatter and act like I know what the next play will be. I am sure I should be able to guess right once in a while anyway.

I like the "wear them to the game" idea. Others were saying (I don't have any) that they DO work with cell phones. Not sure what cable you needed to make that happen, but it seemed to be one that came with it because people weren't going to The Shack to get one.

jimmyangst wrote:Woot! Got home last night to find a bloated oligarch's carcass on the porch! Much, much less crappy crap than the last Bucket of Candy I scored. Very exciting:

8- Jumble 2010 Calendar Games
6- small plastic pipette things
3- Golds gym totes (these are even crappier than I pictured them being!)
1- kids size 6 T shirt (already donated to a friend with a size 6 kid)
1- Screaming Monkey with checkered cape (this makes the $8 totally worth it even if I hadn't gotten more crap)
1- Panasonic Link to Cell bluetooth thingie w/ 2 handsets (can fwd calls from home to cell phone or, I presume, vice versa)
1- Polaroid 7MP digital camera

Quite a haul, I must say! It's not even crappy crap!

Thanks jimmyangst! My size 6 kid loved the shirt. He put it on immediately last night.

My Buttercream Oatmeal Cake came on Wednesday as expected. 4.4 lbs felt about right. After reading what everyone else got (I couldn't help myself) I was really only hoping for a monkey that works and a shirt that fits my kid. I got both! And no calendars. I got:

3 gym totes
1 high school musical clock
a checker-cape monkey
a green eggs and ham shirt size 12 that perfectly fits my size 8 child.

My smaller child is terrified of the monkey, but she loves bags, so she's happy.

Judging by the child shirt complaints there seem to be a lot of people on here that don't know any kids. That sucks. No wonder they are so complainy. Maybe it would make them feel better to send them to me.

I received the standard fare, so I will not post a pic, but here's a rundown:

(3) Gold's Gym Tote Bags
(1) Leopard printed cape Screaming Monkey
(1) Kids Woot T-shirt "The Better to stab You With"
(1) Prevention Ultima Digital Blood Pressure Monitor

I was like Santa Claus at work this morning! Everyone got 1 item from my Bountiful October Cornucopia. Fun times!

Okay as you all know I received a letter in my Bloated Orca Carcass. Well the POC (Pallet Of Crap) is at Fed Ex freight waiting to be picked up. Now you ask why do I have to pick it up? Because they were going to deliver it with a tractor trailer and in my rural part of the world they would never have made it near my house.

So what do I know at this time

it is four foot by four foot by four foot and 220 pounds
It has boxes and metal shrinked together, and some of the metal is yellow. My guess is the yellow metal is part of a set of warehouse storage risers. Beyond that I have no idea So it is a POC, oh yes I plan on shooting video. I may attempt to do a quick Justin TV live broadcast.

So stay tuned for further development over the next couple of hours.

bloody!

P.S. Update on my calendar progress. Today is Thursday February 18th and this one is a doozy. I've got all of the base words, but I'm working on the "final" words. It's a pair of words that are related (instructions on this one say similar, but all of the base words were actually antonyms -- but I worked past that). Four letters and Seven letters (and related). Not going to post the letters because I'm working this calendar on my own.

Even still, A month and a half in a week is a pretty good pace.....I should come close to catching up.

Ok, I got it, but the puzzle is all jacked up. It was asking for the "same" but was the opposite. And the letters from the base words aren't correct. I made a logic leap to get it right. For those of you who got the calendar, take a peek....and post a pic of it without writing if you can (I only got one calendar and I've already written on mine).

This is a big case of buttafuoco. (which is funny, because that's the word that was messed up).

As I approached my office, I heard a voice from within...and it turned out to be you on justin.tv! I just caught the end, and the transmission was lousy, so I still don't know what you got (you didn't sound too excited). Awaiting your report here, as I'm sure many of us are, since there were only 7 viewers on justin.

Has anyone not yet gotten their bubble of consternation? I got the fedex number but it still just says 1.0lbs and has only the 9/28 update of "shipment info sent to fedex." I saw the update that shipping was running a bit slow, but it's starting to look like it may have been forgotten...

I got all excited when I got this order in on my birthday, but it's starting to look like when I was younger and my aunt would call on the birthday, but ship the gift 8 months later. I'm not worried, though, because that gift was always da bomb =). I can say 'da bomb' because I'm talking about the 90's. It's historically accurate.

Hugs,
Justin

This was a great Buttafuoco on Crack, Some decent stuff and at least one surprise in most boxes.

Mine:

6 Jumble Calendars
1 Monkey with Leopard cape
3 Golds Gym bags
1 kids Shirt "don't eat the bears" (being worn to school today, son's favorite song is "I'm a Gummy bear")

And One Photo to digital converter. Looks like it only does Photos. and missing the drivers CD. I am not sure if this converts slides too, but if so then this is perfect!

Thanks Woot, and my son's expression was well worth the investment.

If you received the VuPoint PS C500VP, as I did, you can simply email them from their website. I did that and they emailed me the instruction manual and mailed me the CD, all at n/c!!

Got home from uni yesterday to finally open my crap. Turns out there was a story too. Was delivered smashed to bits, to the wrong house, quite a ways down the street. We've known that family a long time, at least. They came and dropped it off.

It was completely open, and nearly everything was smashed. So that's pretty sad.

Got a broken iPod dock, a few broken headphones, a USB cable with a smashed end, a broken gyrocopter thing -- looks to be an RC toy but without a controller, a torn kids Woot shirt, 2 broken thermoses, a random cracked piece of plastic with arrows and iPod logos on it -- might go to a different dock or something, and no Texas air.

What wasn't broken: Leopard Flying Monkey (yes!), 3 Gold Gym totes, and a half-dozen desk calendars.

It's tough to imagine that things didn't fall out. I hope this was an accident, and not UPS guys learning about the Bucket of Candy and trying to take expensive stuff, since nobody would know. (I know people have been suspicious of this in the past. I still really doubt this is happening, though.)

I tried the whole "don't read the thread to be surprised" thing, but it was dumb, since the best part is seeing what other people get anyway. Now I have a lot of pages to read. :P

I have to say, this is the first time I've been disappointed by my crap. Not with the contents, but with the packaging and shipping.

Woot, I know this is just for fun and everything, but please use a bit of Texas air, and please use sufficient tape! Some of us really look forward to this.

  • 3 Gold's Gym fitness totes (bag)
  • 8 Would You Rather? Music Edition 2010 desktop calendars
  • 0 Packing Material (Texas Air)

After being routed to the wrong state, my Bucket of Candy arrived yesterday. The tape on the bottom was pulled mostly off and stuff was literally falling out when we brought it in the house.

In any case, what was left in the box:

1 Loose CD with ATI Capture card drivers
1 ATI TV tuner PCI Card (looks new)
3 Loose empty thin CD/DVD Jewel Cases
6 Jumble 2010 Calendars
1 Fact or Crap 2010 Calendar
1 small metal thermos
1 loose VGA male to male cable
1 Children's "Solid Gelt" t-shirt
1 6.0 Cell Fusion GE phone thing in a very battered box. (Looks used)
1 Leopard-cape Screaming Monkey
3 Gold's Gym Totes

No bags of air. I'm guessing they fell out of the bottom somewhere on the extra 1000 or so miles the box traveled when it overshot to California.

Oh benevolent Woot overlords,

Now that most of the crap is delivered and the letter owner's pallet is soon to arrive to its fortunate owner, don't you think it's time for us to have another shot at crap? Please, oh, please, do us the pleasure of another woot off this week. We all promise to buy lots of crap we don't really need to move things along and then dutifully shut down your serves sometime between 300 and 430 on Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday.
