Thanks,

When working properly, all lights are a solid (non-flashing) blue. When using the phone, the line you're using turns red. When you have a VoiceMail, the play button is flashing red. I think if you're set for Do Not Disturb, the envelope is red. But for the most part, look for non-flashing blue.

Good luck.

Thanks CotC,

I'm thinking I might have an issue with the phone I hooked up to it. It was an older answering/cordless. When I call my number I got my wifes voice with our current number. Makes sence now that the answering machine is picking up. Not sure why I can't call out, unless the cordless phone is not bound correctly to the base or something else silly that I am missing. Will try again when I get home.

Thanks for confirming that all the lights should be on blue . . . btw the line 1 does turn red when I pickup the handset, so that appears to be working correctly.

Sounds mostly like user error! As in most cases. lol

Set it up yesterday, behind my Airport Express and then connected the Blu-Ray player to its "out" port. Shouldn't be a problem.

Porting my number, using my Google Voice, and had a bluetooth dongle that I meant to return - so I just plugged it in to the back and now it's connected to the house iPhones as well.

Liking this!

Everything is working now. The dialing issue I had was 10 digit dialing. I thought I set it correctly, but apparently not. So now I have incomming and outgoing calls. Call log is working. That is kind of nice, and made a call to my Mom, and she said it sounded clear, like I was right there in the room with her. Sounded OK on my end as well. Currently it is between my modem and router. Considering moving back behind the router. Now I need to figure out the best way to get the unit moved to where we will be able to easily get to it. May require some redesign of my network. Feeling much better about the purchase now.

Only problem I'm having is my cordless phones keep showing no data. Not sure what is going on I have two other corded phones that work fine. The caller id works fine on my dish boxes also but for some reason the cordless phone set I have shows no data and nothing will show up on caller id when someone calls?

I haven't checked the caller ID yet on the phone. In my call logs, they do appear to be working. I'll check my phone when I get home tonight.

I have DSL and I was told by my internet provider that I could not add anything that would hook into my phone line without messing up my internet. Anyone else have this problem? I am very sad that I might have to return mine.

If you have DSL (per Email from Ooma)

IF YOU HAVE DSL: If your Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) Internet connection is associated with the phone number you are trying to port, your DSL service will be cancelled on the day of transfer. Ooma recommends that you do not proceed with transferring your phone number until you have separated your DSL from your phone line (dry-loop DSL). If your port needs to be rescheduled for any reason within 72 hours of your port completing, you will be responsible for change fees of up to $200 that may be levied by our carrier.

I called my internet service provider, and apparently if I drop my phone line they raise the cost of my DSL about $15 a month since I will not be "bundled". This has been very frustrating, especially considering how excited I was about my Ooma!! Maybe I need to check into cable... would I be able to add it on without a problem then?

Yes, I have my phone with the cable company, which I will drop as soon as my # is ported

My caller ID works fine with my cordless phone. Pretty nice, as we never had that service on our AT&T line to save money. Bonus.

Unfortunately, still no response from Ooma with repeated inquiries. Ooma's support is terrible.

I would really appreciate if someone would explain to me the point of an Ooma Scout. If I plug this into an ethernet port in my house and also into a phone line, will the other phone lines around my house need Scouts? If not, what is the point of the Scout?

I do not believe that the scout plugs into any ethernet port. The Hub and Telo do, but the scout plugs into a regular phone outlet, as long as you have the phone out from the Hub connected to your house wiring in another room.

You don't have to plug the telo into your home phone line if you really want to use it. Set it up for a direct phone connection, plug the telo into your internet services through your router or between the modem and router and then get telo handsets. They are totally wireless and use dect 6 to communicate with the telo. I think you can have up to 4 handsets paired with your telo.

Have tried it in another country (though that was my older Ooma device). Worked great.
Was traveling for over 5 weeks. The device paid for itself just over those 5 weeks
