When Amazon bought woot, in the certain States where Amazon has to charge sales tax. Before that, woot had to charge sales tax only in Texas for most (not all) items.

These are WONDERFUL but I have learned to stab the Clips! Except the battery life in my Clips is noticeably less than the battery life in my Fuze. I use the Fuze any time I have pockets, clips otherwise. And carry a spare. I've been a Sansa fan since the 130e and stab having the extra capacity for audiobooks, but miss being able to swap out a battery midday re specifically the Fuze: easy controls, great display, reliable, sleep mode works with no glitches, radio & voice record fine, but I rarely use them.

Really? I can't make that work. They drag and drop fine (and take up the space) but I can't find them when disconnected. Not in the audiobook or music folder.

The only success I've had is to use WMP in Windoze.

I have never tried this, but there is a freeware program called iTunes Sync that is supposed to allow you to use an iTunes playlist on any mp3 player.

Email service@woot.com with your order number and user name, and they should be able to change it (as long as they arn't sold out).

I just did the same!

Me too. Hopefully they can add a 2nd on. Had it set to 2, but at the RLB noticed I needed to change CC info. But hitting back button must have set it back to buying one. :'( Put in new CC info and clicked away only to notice I only bought 1. Doh!

That explains it. I live in Washington, home of Amazon. This really ruins the magic of Woot. Things were cheap and we could cheat the outrageous sales tax of this state. From now on I will have to have things I buy sent to friends in Oregon, no sales tax there. Damn it!

For orders over 40.01 (such as 2 Sansa Fuzies), use the coupon code TAXSUCKS to get free shipping, and sometimes even save a little.

Yes then spend more in gas money driving to get it in Oregon than you would have spent on sales tax. Great idea.

Have been putting off on buying one of these. I really stab my iPod! But I hardly travel with it.

Have several audiobooks and thinking about using this specifically for those, as well as podcasts.

Also interested in Rockbox. Any RockBox users, would stab to know your impressions on using RockBox on the Fuze.

the time it takes to rescan depends heavily on the card. I have a class 2 4gb card that takes a little over a minute to scan, but my class 4 8gb card takes only a few seconds. Again, you get what you pay for in cards. I bought one years back when my iPod nano got stolen But I stab this more than my iPod. It can also hold a beating, I have abused mine so much (something you cannot do to an iPod as I hear they switched to making them out of glass.). I'm actually surprised I haven't had to replace it yet. No big deal when I need to, just wait for woot to sell it for $20.

Any suggestions for a mini speaker to go with this? I'd like to use it in the car, but don't have a way to output through the radio's speakers. (Not interested in the FM-transmitter thingies.)

(I'm already in for 2.)

I ordered one of these last week or so and at first it was great, but now my computer won't recognize it. I noticed on another site other people are having the same problem. I have used up several valuable hours of my life trying to get it to work. It's useless. Any ideas?

I checked around today - Hemmed and Hawed.
I cannot find one of these cheaper anywhere, not really even used on ebay - not one that I would not wonder about.

so anyway - I bought one.

:O)

Cant wait to get it. I have a zune 30 gig but it's a bit bulky for some things I am doing so this will make a great partner for it.
I would wait to get one in my first Brown Paper enclosure of pewp. But In all these years I have never got one so, Whatever.

I'd guess that the problem's the cable. My first Fuze was stolen (almost the instant I accidentally left it alone) so I bought another to replace it. The older cable has developed a short, so sometimes my Fuze isn't recognized when connected via it - or the connection is lost, but it always works fine with the other cable.

Hope this helps.

Not a mini-speaker solution, but I use a cassette audio adapter in conjunction with my mildly modern auto stereo.

Have you tried all the USB modes? I have had problems
with auto detect but MSC has worked reliably.

To change the USB mode go to Settings ==== System Settings ==== USB modes.
