I have one of these. They are bloody for taking nature pictures when you don't feel like lugging a heavy tripod around.

Monopods are bloody. They go up 100x in value per day. They are a great investment. You should buy 3 and get all your friends to buy 3 as well until they all are sold. Do it for your own financial future. You do care about having enough for retirement dont you?

I used to use a monopod when I was taking pictures in an elementary school. It steadied the camera enough, and there was nothing sticking out to be tripped on when kids went running by.

This seems like a real woot item- kinda cool to have but pretty unusable in most circumstances.

Own a similar one - it's perfect for taking video of my kid's band when I'm sitting in an auditorium seat (I can use it even in narrow aisles, unlike a tripod). Much more useful than a tripod for someone that wants to carry it everywhere.

Oh jeez...there's prolly 50 of these that need to be unloaded!
