Technically, a "half-woot-life" of 12 hours would mean they remove half of the stock after twelve hours. 12 hours later, they remove half again. This repeats until there's a single item, which I guess they sever in half and try selling the pieces.

Great reviews. In for 3. Each copy can be used on five computers, so all 15 of my computers will be running like freshly tuned Ferraris.

Wootalyzer says 5 minutes left, which means this is hopefully not the end of the Woot-Off. I have a Wish List for Santa Woot: Cheap Sansas and cheap Digital Cameras. And BACON SALT!

Pretty sure they were trying to make a joke rather than a technical definition of a half-life, but who knows... we just might find out exactly when an item gets pulled if these CDs last much longer =P

Let's all hope that the suckers buying them are very dedicated to the Woot community and taking one for the team!

Um... yes it is and I hope you're joking. CCleaner, MSE (or any other free AV), Malwarebytes, and Windows defrag (or another free defrag) are all free and probably better than whatever this does.

Why did it censor out the word "l a m e"? Woot replaced it with "overcooked."

If woot could come up with some sort of launching system for the CDs I'd buy 'em all and use them as skeet for target practice with my shotgun!

You're just saying that to drum up business. I'm also A+ certified, with 9 years of experience. I wouldn't install this on the system of someone I didn't like!

It'll hog up resources, especially of it's installed one of those cheap off the shelf PCs that most people who buy this stuff would likely be using.

My first post, and it is because I am quite disappointed. If it was my choice the person responsible for this should be in TIME-OUT, old fashion, in the corner, spankings, the whole bit... shame on you.

in for 2, I miss the old coasters I used to get in the mail.

Version: PC Pitstop Optimize 3.0

"THIS IS A SCAM AND WILL RUIN YOUR SYSTEM"

by divineimage on May 19, 2010

Pros: there is no benefit to using this software.

Cons: I used PCMATIC on 5 machines and it screwed them all up.
Support is a joke

Summary: PCMATIC screwed up alll 5 machines. At first it would reset my system restore in XP and then eliminate my restore points. Then it removed REG items that caused my systems to begin crashing. They don't tell you that most reg items do not slow your system down anyway. Only if you are getting error screens popping up will reg scan help. When i contacted support they thought i did not know what i was talking about.Only after a week of e-mails and trouble shooting my machines did they finally ADMIT that the software code was doing more harm to XP machines especially
After listening to the arrogant attitude of Rob who claimed to be the code writer he had to admit that his code caused problems.
When i posted on their forum about the problems to warn others so their systems would not crash. Pcpitstop removed my access to the forums and locked me out.
I have never been treated this poorly by any other software vendor in 10 years on the web. I'm still waitng for my refund.
Do everyone a favor and spread the word to avoid this company and it's products.
Also be aware that they recently joined forces in some way with CA so watch out your system will be screwed up.
Soon we will have a website up to address this particular company, their products and their deceptive practices.
As you see in other reviews their software always tells you something is wrong and then labels it a high security to frighten you into hitting the FIX ALL button.
I will be posting my e-mail exchanges with them so you can decide for yourself whether you want to do business with this company or use the software.
