Hey! The EyeClops Mini Projector really does look a lot like Wall-E, doesn’t it?
I'd like to plug this sucker into my desktop/laptop, play movies and hulu/youtube vids on it and project it onto my wall. Do you wooters think this device would be good for that? Thanks in advance for opinions!
spoonyspork wrote:Someone earlier said 'no because RF blahblah' ... except they make converters these days for those types of things. Such as this one for $.78
Wrong. If you had bothered to read the description in that link, you'd see that it even warned, "PLEASE NOTE! Do not use these adapters to connect an RF antenna signal into a Composite video signal or visa versa. " I was that someone and your $0.78 device does nothing to link the Atari 2600 to this projector. Making the jacks/ports fit doesn't mean that the signals are compatible. What you linked is an "ADAPTOR" not a CONVERTER. It says so clearly on the webpage: "Monoprice RCA Male to F Female Adaptor." It does nothing to change the RF signal coming out of Atari 2600 into the electrical signals required for this projector. If you had just done just a little of research before going "blahblah," you would have known that the RF signal is composed of VIDEO AND AUDIO information, which is one reason it's so fuzzy. On the other hand, the yellow RCA composite port on this projector (and all other such devices) is PURELY VIDEO. Do you really think you can simply put degraded audio/video RF signals into a video only port? Where does the audio info go? At which point is it separated and extracted by this $0.78 adaptor? There are plenty of devices to convert composite info into RF, but I know of no readily available device to go the other way because there is no common need to do so.
I bought this thing as a cheap substitute for another TV for my bedroom. My son and I watch TV on the ceiling while my wife/his mom watches TV on the dresser. It is watchable and mostly readable at about 6ft from the surface we are watching it on, but at 8ft or so it becomes hard to read the text and gets fuzzy. We watch shows on my PS3 or Xbox 360 and it works very nice for another source for viewing/playing and is a very cheap TV/Monitor alternative.
This EyeClops Mini Projector really does look a lot like Wall-E.
It's a perfect for camping trips. I'm in for one.

I've already been corrected several times over, thanks much. Couple bucks more for an RF modulator (which is what I would have suggested but that came up and I assumed. Sorry!) *edit* Also, I must note that if you'd bothered to read these posts you would have known that the mistake was already fixed! ;)
Lumens ? does anybody have an idea of lumens.

This post scares me slightly.

Keep it up! Soon it will become even funnier!
Hey, that eyeClops really does look like Wall-E. I wonder if the EyeClops could make like Wall-E and clean up all the posts about the EyeClops looking likey Wall-E from this list?
This, maybe: Coax RF To Composite RCA VGA Demodulator Converter
sdc100 wrote:No, because the Atari 2600 used RF output and lacked composite outputs.
True, but the Atari can easily be modified to output S-Video (which can be merged to create composite) and Stereo sound.
“Hey! The EyeClops Mini Projector really does look a lot like Wall-E, doesn’t it?”
I don't think it looks like Wall-E.
I ordered this via woot - now i'm having 2nd thoughts - is there a way i can cancel my order the same day i made it?
Over ten pages, tons of bashing the product, if I didn't know any better I say this waa a woot! off
Come to think of it... Wall-E really does look a lot like the EyeClops Mini Projector doesn't he?
My faith in Woot and opinion concerning the average Wooter's intelligence has been drastically altered today...
“Hey! The EyeClops Mini Projector really does look a lot like Wall-E, doesn’t it?” You're welcome, mods. Viva Los Revolution Digitalis!
So in 10 pages of comments it looks like the most important thing is ::it looks like wall-e:: and they wonder why the IQ of the human race is dropping... soon the robots will take over led by the wall-e looking projector
I wish to hell I knew what a Wall-e is? Ok, I do know, but that is beside the point after 10 pages of posts.
Hey, how long does shipping usually take if i were to order this today? I have a xmas party sunday... think its possible? i didnt see any overnight shippin, or rush shipping
Holy geeze! That thing looks kinda like Steven Seagal!
Can this projector be hooked up with a laptop? If it can and needs an additional cables or adapter, which ones are they?
