I'm not saying stupidity should be punishable by death, but if we take the warning labels off of the products the problem would cure itself

That's not going to happen any time soon. If you want a good projector, you'll be shelling out the same amount of cash as for a good TV. You're not going to find a HD projector for $25 anywhere :p

This is a cool device! It takes an image from a video input and projects it onto a wall or a screen!

It doesn't look like Wall-E. As a matter of fact, Wall-E is a direct rip off of #5, from Short Circuit. Just my opinion....

I got one of these a few woots ago, and while it certainly isn't going to be the centerpiece of your home theater, its almost nonexistent weight and heat make it extremely flexible for nonstandard viewing. Tons of fun if you're into watching movies inside of living room forts or projecting images onto plain white iced cupcakes at parties.

Here's a chart I measured up with distance and viewing size:

Distance : Size
1' : 8"
2' : 16"
3' : 24"
6' : 48"
9' : 72"

If there are any Apple kids out there, here's the adapter for you:

(don't worry, it's cheaper on eBay)

The Revolution Will Not Be Digitized!

Oh, this looks like a cool way of projecting a screensaver fireplace onto the garage door for Christmas...or other loops of video for other holidays...at least for the price it's worth a try!

In for one!

get 4 and you'll have 640 by 480 resolution.

anyway, these are great for projecting video of a scary face onto one of those styrofoam head / wig displays (around halloween... otherwise you're just weird). We did this for our haunted house last year and the talking floating head in the middle of the room was pretty impressive, and the resolution was perfect for this application.

Absolute junk. Got one from Buy.com during cyber monday. You can see the image if it's 3" from the wall in a dark room and the colors are wayyyy off.

I've been debating whether or not to buy one of these for some time now. I know the video quality isn't great, but what I really want to know is whether or not it would work very well for displaying PowerPoint presentations.

I just need a projector for light home office use, and if this will fit the bill, then I don't want to spend hundreds for such little use. On the other hand, if it isn't going to work for me, then I don't want to waste any money that could go into the digital projector fund.

There are some decent ones. Fisher Price makes a model for $93.79. And this 10 lumen rechargeable aaxa Technologies LCOS Pico Projector is only $94.99. It even has a built-in MP4, MP3, AVI, JPG, RM decoder to play videos off an SD card. If you're willing to spend more, the FAVI E1-LED-PICO Mini LED Projector, Entertainment Edition is highly rated.
