amnewsboy wrote:Wait, is this a Snuggie™, or a "Not a Snuggie" from a previous Wooting?

This is not the same product as the one you have linked. The previous Woots were for a 50% thicker fleece "Not a Snuggie", these are just plain old "Not a Snuggies". Honestly, I wooted the thicker "Not a Snuggie" and love it because its not as thin as the regular one and keeps you nice and roasty-toasty even on the coldest nights.

Even if it's not the warmer version of it, these things are great if you spend a lot of time sitting in a computer chair, watching TV/movies on the couch, or even in bed as my mother uses it as an extra blanket that won't slide off (or for those of you with others in the bed, they can't steal it!).

I originally bought these in anticipation of a road trip to Florida from NY in the car which is something to consider if you go on long car rides often, but even though I didn't get to use mine yet in my car it did keep my mother warm while she was in the hospital.

Overall it really is a nice product if you don't want to drag blankets (or bath robes) all over the place that you'll probably use more than you think.

I love my "Not a Snuggie" deluxe. Got two last woot actually. Got the mint and red.

Side note - cats intuitively know when things are warm and seek them out like magnets. Even when they're stored in closets or in dressers, the cats will find them.

I got two "Not a Snuggie" and two book lights last time they were offered as a two-fer. They are actually NOT "Not a Snuggie". They are actually the opposite. Er, they're not really "Not", um, those well-known things, get it? *ahem*

I got a red one and a blue one. They're lightweight but the fabric is thick and very warm, that's for sure. They're also very long - I use them as a throw when I take the occasional nap in the afternoon, and they work great for sitting at my computer here in this cold corner of my office.

Had to wash mine a couple of times right out of the package because of the shedding fuzzies and a slight chemical smell, but they wash and dry up very nicely.

I'm glad I bought them, it's a great deal for the price.

EDIT: I guess this one being offered today is a lighter weight than the ones I got. That's a bummer, isn't it? Well, they're still warm.

Dang -- deceptive of the Wootster -- same pic of same guy in same brown chair wearing the same blue reversed-robe-like blankie, which is of the same dimensions, and listed as made of the same material.

But there is that one line that the deluxe is 50% thicker, and I am glad you pointed it out. I fear I will have to weight [sic] for the more weighty version to pop up. And should that deluxe version never again appear on Woot, I guess I will just be without my backwards Zebra robe....

thanks for the alert comparison !!

It's a friggin static magnet. You put that thing on and move around just a little bit and you'll feel like you're Thor. You shoot lightning bolts from your finger tips at any metal object that is grounded... That crappy part is it isn't as cool as it sounds, it hurts... a lot, like your finger/hand goes numb for a few minutes.

I've built up such a crazy static charge with this thing that my roommates hear an audible pop and see the spark shoot out of my finger tip. Yeah, it's kinda warm, but not fun if you live in a dry climate.

Think Bounce dryer sheets.

I know you can't get an extended warranty on blankets, but I just wanted to let you know you can get 35% off on a Squaretrade warranty with the code SECRETuntil midnight tonight PST. You can get extended warranties for anything you bought for 90 days back (I think)
If they can't fix it they'll pay for it.
They bought my 3 year old LCD TV for the full price of 999.99 and my refurbished quad core computer for 799.98.
I put warranties on all my electronics.

I have seen several posts fom other woots where people talk of their "coupon" - how do they get them?

fyredriftwood wrote:With the $5 off coupon, I snagged one for $8.

Husband and I are hoping to get the leopard and zebra print because they're hideous.

(In reality, we're fine with whatever we get. It's the excitement of the wait that's driving this.)

I was going to get one for the Lumix camera I bought on woot last week (and received already!). I saw your note above and just made the buy. The code worked.

Thanks, cheroke!

Okay, I'm in. I work at home and tend to work at night, when it gets cooler and often I get chilly. This will be a very nice alternative to getting a space heater, as it will keep my legs warm while just wearing a sweater won't.

I dont like not being able to pick the colour, though. With my luck I'm going to wind up with either that hideous beige, the minty hospital death ward shade, or the nasty camo one. Hoping for at least one tie-dye!

It's too bad these aren't the heavier-weight ones, but if they suck I'll just cut 'em up and use them for my rat blankets. :D Also, I know a little girl who would just LOVE a booklight, so I'm hoping at least one of them works well enough to give to her.

I got six of these in the last woot off and have really been happy with them. My daughter is sleeping in front of the xmas tree right now, using it as a blanket. I would tel you they make great christmas presents but it's too late for you!

Recommended for the price and because of the sweet booklights. They are really cool also. I do wish they tied tho

I don't know about everyone else, but if you are using a snuggle tipoff, the pattern being leopard print o zebra stripes is only half the problem.

I personally would like leopard print and zebra stripes, so I could use the leopard print, someone else could use the zebra stripes, and it would be clear who was the hunter and who was the prey.

Did not see NG's usual previous Woot link. Bought some the last time they were on here but not sure this is the exact same item. If it is the same, you can't go wrong, very heavy weight and comfortable. Yes I look foolish when I put mine on but I also look foolish when I take it off so sometimes I get to claim it's the blanket.
