42" selling on Amazon for $799: http://www.amazon.com/Silo-Digital-Echo-LTSL4260F-1080p/dp/B004GYABTG/ref=sr_1_2?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1293603638&sr=1-2

Here is the company page on TradeKey: http://www.tradekey.com/profile_view/uid/295851/Silo-Digital.htm

My money is on China for their home. They're a free member, here, so not much info on them.

Found a problem post about the brand: http://www.fixya.com/support/t880794-ilo_2600_silo_lcd_color_tv

Found a discussion from an unhappy camper Dan and a Silo rep: http://www.ripoffreport.com/tvs-vcrs/silo-digital-corp/silo-digital-corp-do-not-buy-t-e6a6c.htm

Tiger Direct has the 32" but are sold out: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3832291&CatId=3649

BUT, finally found some reviews at TigerDirect! http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/searchtools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3832291&csid=ITD&recordsPerPage=10&body=REVIEWS#tabs

I really can't find any information about this tv. I can't even find info about this brand. My guess is it's either canadian or german. Or new. I trust it if woot has it. But I wish I could find at least a couple reviews.

I do a daily woot blog where I talk about the woot, link to CSEs, find reviews, etc. A few people have told me it's useful. Google "useful linkage" and there it is.

Oh, I'd buy "Juggalo Abs."

Well, no, I'd try to talk somebody else into it. But I'd want to buy it.

$380 seems a little steep for a couple of shake weights, but I do need to lose a few pounds from all the holiday over-eating. In for 3.

I know I'll always say this about improving technology, but it's crazy how much less a 40" LCD 1080p TV costs now than when I bought mine 2 years ago.

Silo?

The only thing I know about silos is that they hold lots of corn. Never heard of this brand. Anyone know anything about them? Not much info on the web (for example: epinions) either.

They assemble HDTV's in California (SILO does) from parts and screens made and imported from Sri Lanka according to their press releases and the Website.

I notice they have product that may be found for sale at Fingerhut.com and Tiger Direct . . . this television in particular sold for $699.99 on Fingerhut's site. Archived reviews at Tiger and Fingerhut were mixed.

I would expect a functional unit that may actually be worth sub-$400 for 40" but I wouldn't expect bleeding edge technology or super black levels, etc.

For the price though, it may be a perfect set for a bedroom or a kids game room, dorm or similar.

From the manufacturer's "About us" page:

We came as the unknown, but plan to leave as the remembered.

Hard to argue with that.

From their "about us" page:

"We are a consumer electronics manufacturer/distributor based out of California, United States with branches in India and Sri Lanka."

My money is on an Indian company trying to gain market share. They already have a practical monopoly on offshore tech support, so it's only natural that they are trying to have a larger international presence. Even if that means products like Tata automobiles...
