Everyone knows that the Death Star was not designed for time travel. Sheez!
What the world really needs is a composter that will rot this thing. Woot, dump this thing, even if you don't get your deposit back.
Definitely the Death Star of composters.
I believe "Some assembly required" should be put in HUGE BOLD PRINT!!!
123shadow wrote:i have a similar composter and find that it is not very effective in composting.
Composting can be a bit of an art, depending on the climate of where you're at, what you're throwing in it, and the amount of maintenance you're willing to do. One thing you can do, if the bacteria aren't working fast enough for your liking, is to buy some composting worms and throw them in the mix. They are extremely active and can reduce even a large load of waste to soil in a matter of a few weeks. http://www.cityfarmer.org/wormcomp61.html As relocating the composter (to take better advantage of the Sun (either more or less)) can help.
I got one of these a while ago. Works great so far. Only problem is that the dogs LOVE it. They make a bee-line for the thing every time we let them out without leashes. It REAAALLYY stinks (literally) when one crawls underneath the thing. Talk about a stinky dog!
We love this thing! I bought 2 from Woot and they are very durable and convenient. There were a lot of parts, but my 12 year old assembled them both himself. We rotate filling one and letting it work while we fill the next one. It is really durable. We don't use the spider base. Rolling it to where we need it is much more practical.
the special fx are awesome
When will it ship , anyone?!
laruriej23 wrote:When will it ship , anyone?!
Hopefully soon!! I got some smelly stuff waiting for it.
Waiting for my order to ship. It's well past five business days. Anyone?
Still nothing here on the shipping...and it's been over 5 days. Hopefully we'll hear something soon...
I think today was actually 5 business days (31st, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th), and they might have been off Friday, so that might take away one business day. =/ Also, it says "typically". I'm not concerned about a single day. If it doesn't ship tomorrow, then we can all freak out.
Bad news. Death Stars being held up by a band of 3 foot tall teddy bears with sticks and rocks. This whole woot was a trap!

OK, so apparently we've hit some perfect storm kinda thing. Due to the holidays, yearend inventory, and the rebel alliance there's a slight delay in getting the tracking to you. Have no fear though. We've been told they HAVE shipped out, but we're just waiting on the tracking. We'll pass that along to all you wonderful people once we get it. Please feel free to send us an email at service@woot.com if you have any questions.
sweet
I'm not too concerned about this getting to me via an expedited shipping method. It will be well below freezing here in MI for a few months yet. Good to hear of an update though.

well yes... if you live in ideal conditions, or have a lot of space/farm etc... but if you live where slugs are kings and things that fly get into everything then I'm willing to give it a shot. I have a whole colony of uninvited guests in my hole composter (plus I'm lazy, and this might motivate me to turn the pile a bit more)... oh and rain... it rains sometimes in western Oregon (just Sept to June) so that puts a damper on the composting process too (oh, ha ha! that's punny).
It has been more than 5 business days. What is the timing of shipment?
What do we want? DEATH STAR! When do we want it? LAST WEEK!
It is now ten days since I ordered the ecomposter. Where is it, no tracking info, or word about when it is going to ship. Anyone have any info on this?
I'm also awaiting notification of shipment ... any updates?
If you check out a few posts up, Dennis shared what's going on. I checked with customer service and they assure me everythin's going as quickly as it can. Apologies for the delay.
Anxiously awaiting my Composter! I get that you guys are busy, but PLEASE hurry.
Save my dog WOOT!....I have 8 grocery bags of compost starting to ooze in my garage! It's either going to end up on my garage floor or outside on my snow covered lawn; which in turn will attract the local wildlife and that in turn will lead the the demise of my dog. You wouldn't want this senseless loss of life on your hands, would you WOOT!?
If you go to fedex.com and use your order # as a reference # you can find out the shipping info. Mine shows Anticipated ship date as Jan 10, 2011 and Estimated delivery as Jan 12, 2011. So apparently they were not shipped at the time of the above post.

doesn't work for me....
Worked for me. Receipt # as reference #. Still in NJ. Should be delivered by Wednesday, the 12th.
O HAI AGAIN. I sent out an email to roughly half of you. The scoop is thus: our vendor's warehouse was the victim of bad weather, several shipping boxes were damaged by water and they're having to repackage a good chunk of these guys before they can be shipped, but half of them already were out the door. SO- those of you whose orders have absolutely positively shipped should have gotten tracking or will get tracking. Those of you whose orders are delayed should have gotten an email with the option to cancel, otherwise, yours should be shipped, at the latest, early next week (they're importing the boxes from Israel or Italy or Istanbul or SOMEWHERE which is very We, the Hitchhikers, I know, so sorry for that).
I haven't gotten an email, yet I was able to find my tracking info via the above method. Left on Jan 10 going to take 2 days?!?!??! (to get to GA from NJ). I was told this thing had a hyperdrive!!!!

If you read up a couple posts, agingdragqueen explained the situation. Darn that weather.
My order is not marked as Shipped and it has been two weeks. Any word on delays?

Ignore me. I resorted my email and found the explanation.
FedEx says it was delivered today, 1/14 in central California.
