AC ->USB and Cigarette lighter -> USB power adapters come in handy. Almost everything charges off USB nowadays. 1A output matches HTC phones, Kindles, etc.

I have one of these already. Works well - I like the versatility (can charge via wall, car, or USB). In for 1 2pk.

So, this won't work with my 3rd generation iPod Touch? I know it only says 1st and 2nd generations, but for a charging unit, does that matter?

does anyone know how long the cables are? I'm sick of 3' cables that barely reach from an outlet to my nightstand.

Does anyone know if the cable will fit an iPhone 4 with an Apple bumper case?

My old car charger and my old iPod USB cable are slightly too big to fit into the bumper's slot.

Yes but it won't charge as fast. This has less amperage but will get the job done (eventually).

The 10 Watt USB Adapter that ships with the iPad outputs 5.1 Volts at 2.1 Amps (2100ma) (this info was taken directly from my iPad's USB adapter)

I see no reason why it wouldn't. I know that if it does not output enough current that the iPad will say it is not charging however, my experience has been that it does indeed charge albeit at a slower rate. It will not charge while you are using it, but if the display is off it will. I have successfully charged my iPad overnight with chargers that output as little as 750ma with no noticeable issues.

Can't imagine why it would matter? I'd be shocked (that's right, shocked!) if this didn't work with any iPod (except for some of the goofy shuffles), iPhone or iPad.

With mini and/or micro-usb cables it will work with a whole lot more stuff too.

I bought a similar Belkin set that came with the proprietary Sansa cable but I use the chargers for all sorts of thins wit no trouble.

Oh good. There can never be more than a thousand times too many opportunities than even remotely necessary to scoop up some more iCrap.

It actually does matter, I cant even use my charger that came with my first generation iphone to charge my iphone 4, its a pretty huge pain in the a.

Product info flyer

It outputs 1A @ 5v so it should charge faster than a generic USB charger.

To those asking if it works with the 3rd gen iPod touch: I would say with almost 100% certainty that yes, it does. Charging any of the iPod touches is exactly the same. No changes at all over the generations. I think the documentation is a little outdated, but the iPhone 4 is on there as well which is a little odd.

Here's some stats, this thing is equivalent to the standard iPhone charger in this write-up.

As far as I know, all 2nd generation accessories work on 3rd generation touches.

When I purchased my iphone 3gs the guy at the store told me to only charge with apple specific chargers because it would be bad for my phone if I didn't. I can't remember what he said but I think it had to do with the battery/battery life. Does anyone know if this is true or not?

I hope so. The product website link was less than helpful. Going to grab a couple. If it doesn't work I have nephews who can use it. Thanks.

It seems to me that us Android users (iPhone=crap) could just use the USB chargers and throw the other crap away and this would still be a good deal. "Had" to buy a single USB charger at R-Shack, over $20 for one. Having a bunch of USB chargers around is good.

It's got a lot more to do with his commission.

Margins are huge on cables etc. Best Buy makes peanuts on a $1200 TV but will try to make it up selling you $75 HDMI cables.

about the price of just the apple ac adapter on amazon, in 4 4, that's 2 2fers, lots of adapters, cables and I get to kick myself if I cannot find one when needed!

But the phone already comes with the charger. He didn't have to sell me one.

This is why apple can successfully charge insane amounts of money for their "apple branded" accessories. While there is a shred of truth to this in that very cheaply made chargers can potentially damage the charging circuits in the iThing, it is unlikely that you will have a problem as the phone itself controls the battery charge, not the AC adapter.

I'm not sure of the status of today's woot but Apple did make a change with the iPhones and iPods charge a few years ago. My iPhone 3GS won't charge on my cars adapter, but my 1st gen iPod Touch will.

Presumably, this would work with an iPod touch 4th generation as well? Can anyone verify?

And for those who have this: do you have the cable length? I'm guessing, from pics, 3', but it would be good to know. Heaven forbid the manf. include it (I've been looking and can't find the length, including at the manf.'s website).

Yes, but in the future when you loose yours, or discover that it is a pain in the rear to have to climb behind the dresser every time you need your charger at work or on a trip, they hope to sell you a spare or two at twenty to thirty bucks apiece. They are planning ahead for your future business.
