Sigh... Figures as soon as I go into work this pops up and I can't load it fast enough. I was watching all night for it

You could do the google search, but here, look at this to start:

I'm 65 y.o. and I won a Big o' Cosmos on my first try. I feel privileged. I raised two great sons who put me on to this. Don't you know our Droid 2's were singing. What an HONOR. My life is complete.

I have been lucky enough to score a Blue Oyster Cult a couple times in the past but it's been over a year since my last one. Being in OH, a long way from Woot's servers in TX, I don't generally have much luck getting the page to load let alone actually being able to buy.

My question, for those who know such things, is this; when I click on the "I Want One" button is it better to wait (with fingers crossed) for the buy page to load or is it better to keep clicking on the button in an effort to get the page to load faster? Or am I restarting my request to load the page by clicking the button again which could actually slow down the loading of the page?

To click (again and again) or not to click, that is the question...

Hey, NightGhost, are you in for three this time?

I am very grateful I had to remain at work to score a bag and craps.

Thanks Woot!

A few weeks ago, I ordered an "Almost Mystery Box" from ThingFling. The "Almost" part is that they tell you what one item in the box will be. I wanted that item (a projection alarm clock worth twice the price of the box), so I figured I'd give that a try, despite many reports here that the contents of other vendors Bag-O'-Crap equivalents being totally worthless. Even if I got the clock and a bunch of dollar store trash, I'd be ahead.

I was pleasantly surprised. The mystery stuff was very interesting, and some quite useful. Here's what I got:

Besides the clock, it includes: Philips media and battery storage case, Jeep Sunvisor CD/DVD Holder, Power Sentry Surge Protector power strip, 7' RCA flat coaxial cable, fancy Decor Switch Plate, GE 7-day Home Security Timer, 2 pack of jewel cases, #2 x 8" screwdriver.

Ginger the cat didn't come in the package, but she enjoyed the box.

I bring this all up to say that this is what I remember Woot! Bags-o-Crap being like in years past. Here's hoping that today's bounty is as good.

Here's to you, Woot! Don't let an upstart like ThingFling out-Crapify you! Show us that you are the best!

All my Big o' Cosmos buys went through after I learned to click once and WAIT for the next screen. Try to remember to breathe while you're waiting. Just my experience; others may differ.

My impression is that if you keep clicking, you are restarting your request. As long as the bottom of your browser says "Waiting for..." then you are in the queue. You request may get lost or crap out, but for me, I just click once, grit my teeth and wait.

The advice I've found in these forums is to click once. Of course, I've tried that and it doesn't work. Continuous clicking doesn't do it for me either. I've resigned myself to read these threads and live through the joy of others.

Congrats to all who won.

I have missed about 3 tries. Refreshed the window and there it was! And the yellow bar was full. I think I held my breath the entire transaction... which took a while so I was a bit lightheaded when it went through.

YEAH, I got a "Big Orphaned Cetacea"

WOOT!

My 3rd Big o' Cosmos in 3 3/4 years. (83rd Woot)
Gracia WOOT/AMAZON!!!!
No bots, no analyzer...
REALLY was the easiest one yet! Just a click of the mouse no delays, put in CC code and ordered..
Went right through!
Glad I wasn't still @ school teaching when the order in Not on public taxpayer time...wink wink. (Just ask Slick WILLY CLINTON)

Can't compare the WOOT/AMAZON Big o' Cosmos to any other site = ANTICIPATION alone!!

Keep trying all..no special tricks needed!

I think this could explain a lot of the problems people have with getting through even if they catch it early...

Thanks to those who responded. I got the main page to load today and the bar was half full/empty and tried the click-once method but got impatient after a couple minutes and started clicking again.

Next time I will wait it out... congrats to everyone who scored today!

ThingFling Mystery Boxes haven't changed much over the years.. That is almost identical to one I got a few years back.. I thought "wow what a deal" and bought a few more.. Ended up with more end of life elctronics wires and cases and splicers and the such than I care to disclose here....

Amazon removed the word "ran dom C..." from the item.. its now called "bag o' C..."

That may explain why 1500 people can get almost identical boxes

Interesting...I'll keep that in mind if I consider another box from ThingFling. But even so, I already got my money's worth with just the known item. Anything else is gravy.
