An iPod/iPhone adapter is not supplied with this unit."

It seems very misleading to say it is compatible with iPods and iPhones when you need an adapter that is not included. From the diagram in the manual it looks like this is needed for all iPods and iPhones.

I hear you, and in fact some docks do come with several adapters. But there are many different sizes of iPod/iPhone, and new ones often come out after a dock is made (e.g. iPod Touch 4th gen, which is thinner than previous models). So each iPod comes with its own adapter.

Note that they aren't needed for the docking functionality - they just stabilize the device so the pin connector doesn't get stressed.

As a true Wooter, I know that only Sansa matters. As someone noted, you can plug your Sansa headphone-out into the Aux input to play your Sansa over these, and for a few bucks, and with Google skills aimed at the combination of the words "cable" and "jive," you can find a site that will make a connector that will enable you to charge your Sansa through the Ipod connector.
However, for reasons known only to the Sansa gods, the current Sansas will not charge and play at the same time. You can run them until they run out of juice and charge them afters. (Some with greater Sansa-fu than I have been able to connect their Sansas just enough to charge them, but poorly enough that the Sansas don't realize they are connected. They say this lets them charge and play, but such deception is too horrible to be contemplated. Of more than this I will not speak.

For what purpose?

It doesn't have a USB port, but you can connect a computer to it via Bluetooth, and transmit audio that way.

The dock is fine, sure, but how 'bout that description?

I saw the Swingin' Medallions once in the 80s after a Class A minor league baseball game. Awesome show!

Apparently they are still around!

As a true Wooter you must have multi Sansas. At least one should charging while using the another.

All docks do not work with all iPods/iPones. Too many product descriptions and reviews say otherwise.

I wonder if it has an ugly external AM antenna or a bulky transformer plug. Both of these are deal killers if you plan to putting this on a counter with the outlet above it. Ugggly.

It sure is hard to find any reviews on this item, especially any ratings on its audio quality. Anyone out there have any current Pioneer products? Last ones I had were stereo system components from the 70's or 80's.

You're right, and "all" is certainly a hard word to live up to. But the OP was pointing out that in addition to the pin connector, this has Bluetooth and an aux input, so if any dock will connect to all of your devices, this would be it.

Since it doesn't have an internal radio, it's a safe assumption that it lacks antennas.

You have a friend who comes over your house. Your personal iPod is playing.

1. He/she wants to show you this awesome new band for a few songs before switching back.
2. He/she dislikes your tastes in music and wants to listen to other things while still allowing your personal iPod to continue to charge
3. You only have half an album and your friend has the other half. You must join forces.

Well first off I suggest you don't tell people about the "I touch" thing ::grin:: and when you do figure it out what to do, could you tell me about it? Cause there is a "gal" wondering how to find cool accessories for her Sansa/Sandisk MP3 player as well!

btw I hope you caught on, to the "tongue in cheek" tone of the post. No disrespect intended!

I'd be in for one if it had a clock and alarm function. It looks like a nice unit, but it can't be any better than my computer speakers, where I have an extra jack for plugging in my iPod (or ANY other small audio device). The ads for iHome with the discount code all around this woot are tempting.

The Griffin Amplifi I bought from Woot for just under $40 was the best deal evah. I still have my classic iPod for that unit. However, my iPod Touch doesn't recharge with it, so I am in the market. This unit looks okay but 10 watts per channel doesn't sound too great for the price. Still, with the built-in Bluetooth I would be able to stream music from my Droid X so it has that going for it. If this unit came with a device for pleasuring me while I was enjoying the tunes I would be in for one.

Looks like the 2nd generation and up is referring to bluetooth, not docked.
When docked only 1st and 2nd are explicitly supported. That is the only reason I'm not in for one, but like many, I am tempted indeed.

As a Professor of iPodian anatomy and physiology, I have to correct you on this matter.

The average time of gestation of an iPod is 4.5 months. And the term for an infant iPod is "iPodling". I've been to the breeding farms in China, it's quite a messy affair, I doubt you'd want to plug these in on a kitchen counter top.

Only compatible with iPod Touch 1st and 2nd Gen, if not you will need an adapter to be able to charge on the dock.
