I bought this kit a while back. Let's get some things straight.

1. Of course it's not all high-end gear. That's not what you get for this price. This is essential equipment that will get you out of a jam.

2. That being said, it's gotten me out of several jams. The jumper cables work. The electrical tape works. The screwdrivers and ratchets work. I've used all of them, because I drove a crappy car for a long time. I loved that car, and now it's gone. But it would have gone sooner if not for this kit.

3. Anybody who's complaining about the quality of these tools probably already has better stuff. You probably don't. Just order this, and it will come in handy some day. Because let's face it-- you're just not ever going to buy better stuff than this, because it doesn't interest you. Just like it never interested me.

I have this kit.

It looks very nice.

Unfortunately, I learned the hard way that all jumper cables are not created equal. After hooking the cables up and using them to start my gf's car, they started to smoke and melt.

I had no idea that was even possible, and I'm not sure why it happened. They did work, but it scared the pee out of me when they started melting.

I would like to note that my car stereo needs more than 10 gauge to run. I have a 2ga wire running to my mono amp.

So yeah, I have doubts that these are much use for a starter.

When you're stuck on the side of the road and you just need to be able to tighten a screw or use a pair of pliers to fix something, tell me you honestly think you'd be better off with nothing.

I really don't know about some of you people...

You can change an accessory belt with these in a pinch, just sayin'

Example: newbie uses poor quality tool to tighten screw/nut/etc.

Newbie ends up rounding off said screw/nut head.

Newbie does not know that poor quality tools, if used incorrectly, can destroy the fastener, turning a ten second 'fix' into something not ten seconds to fix.

This example may not always take place, but it does happen enough to complicate things for non-newbie.

In the end newbie and non-newbie share a beer/sandwich/etc and all is good in repair-land.

Newbie could do that with the best screwdriver, if it's the wrong size or used incorrectly. The problem's not the tool.

Just got this in and its ok about what I expected for the price BUT the Jumper cables that were advertised was a LIE " 8-foot booster cables constructed of 10-gauge wire for better conductivity and more power" They are NOT 10 Gauge they are very small wries 14 Gauge at BEST, I am very disappointed in this purchase This was a bit of False Advertising, about the Jumper Cables.

Thats Becausethey advertised them as 10 Gauge WHICH THEY ARE NOT!!! with cable the lower the Number the Thicker it is. So these are probably 14 gauge at BEST!!

Don't you people watch movies? The cables are for tying people up, and the tools are so you don't get blood on your "nice" set....
