Sweet, a strobe light. Now I can hold raves while lost in the woods.

I don't need anything super-bright or super expensive. I just need something to help me find my way to the bathroom in a power outage. In for one!

Have one of these, just bought two more. Great little lights, very lightweight and suparbright. Has that hold-it-under-your-gun tactical feel, too.

How do these compare to your average $5-$10 LED flashlights you get at any electronics or grocery store?

nice... love these.

Note - not the newest gen cree bulb, but stillv ery bright, and very good for the money.

realistically, expect about 100 lumens out of this cree.

You can get 3 150 lumens for same price over at your local Costco.

I wonder if this will fit inside of 1" weaver mount rings.

Here it is on Amazon...

I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy.

I know a guy who uses this same type of LED flashlight as a bedroom light. Seriously.

I do a daily woot blog where I talk about the woot, link to CSEs, find reviews, etc. A few people have told me it's useful. Google "useful linkage" and there it is.

As a former Boy Scout and current military, I'll say: One can never have too many flashlights (and corresponding batteries).

Watch this Youtube video of the flashlight.

Does anyone know how many batteries one flashlight uses? The tech specs say 6 AAA batteries (each), but the pictures make it look like it is really 3 batteries per flashlight. I will buy a 3 battery flashlight, but 6 is too rich for me when my kids can wear out a set of batteries in a single use.

It's a single diode that will blind you with its power.

Hmm… and an assault crown style top to go with it. I'd really just assume have a flat top.

Shoot I needed a flashlight and I just bought the one on ebay's daily deal this weekend.

And these are a better deal..

How do these compare to the more famous Fenix lights, I wonder?

I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy.

Here's some info about lumen ratings of flashlights - apparently it's hard to trust them.

And here is a lumen comparison chart that may help you contextualize what you'll get out of these flashlights.

Most of my flashlights are from woot!

Adding these to the bunch.

In for TWO...only because I had to "share the wealth".

IT HAS 1 LED AND ITS ABOUT AS BRITE AS THE DURACELL MODEL YOU'LL FIND AT YOUR LOCAL WALMART

compuryan

quality posts: 0 Private Messages compuryan

As another has said, you just won't actually get 160 lumens out of this light. Although it is a decent deal, the older gen LED will cause lower battery life. Best to spring for an up-to-date Fenix, which are also built like tanks (no plastic components!)

grampella

This is also sold as the Techlite Lumen Master. I picked up a couple of these at Costco a while back, and while they won't put out out 160 lumens, they are quite bright. They really only provide a spot; turning the forward lense assembly doesn't provide a flood beam, it just sort of defocuses the spot.
I paid $20 + tax for the two flashlights and have found them to be very handy. As long as you're not expecting too much from these, you will too!

If you're gonna put this on a weapon, I'd personally invest in something a little bit nicer. Surefire 6P's are proven, reliable, and can hold up to the harsh recoil of firearms, and are reasonably priced.

For those of you looking for product info from the company, I think this is a semi-dead end. It looks like Mahco owns the "Serengeti" trademark, and the website is under construction (Bentonville, AR):
