Many buyers prefer refurbished products, on the supposition that they have undergone more thorough testing than new ones.

In any case, Woot has sold many refurbs, so undoubtedly they are selling well - which is what it's all about.

You can always add a SquareTrade warranty, or not buy, if you're leery of refurbs.

The ambient light sensor would be a nice feature for someone who gets a lot of light-sensitivity headaches. Turn the lights off, and your TV dims also? Much nicer than having to listen to the shows because the TV is glaring.

Big diff...

If you watch 10 hours of TV every day (!) for a year, that's 3,650 hours a year, or 36,500 hours in 10 years...

But you're right - that is a big difference (probably a typo).

Can I watch Netflix on this television?

Yes - with a Netflix-ready device, such as the Roku Box or Blu-Ray player such as Woot recently offered.

My experience:
I have the Vizio 37" and love it. A few years ago Vizio was not a well known name, but my experience is that their products score well, perform well and are priced low.

I have a 37" that I purchased at Costco 3 years ago and it still works perfectly. The logo is not as bright as people make it out to be. It can get annoying if it is literally the ONLY light on in the room, but 99% of the time it isn't an issue. Best of all, they are made in the USA... probably not a plus for most people but it makes me feel good inside.

The logo DOES light up. Orange when the TV is off and white when the TV is in use. There is no way to turn it off in the settings and I've searched the web and the only thing I've seen is use electrical tape or open it up and cut the wires...

I LOVE mine. I've never had any lag problems or sound problems. There are different setting for your prefered sound and picture. The light isn't too bright and mine has lasted I think about 2 years now with no problems. It is a little slow to warm up but nothing much. I have my Wii attached to stream netflix and it works like a dream. As for the refurbished thing, I've bought refurbished stuff from Woot before with no problem. In fact the netbook I'm using now is a refurb from Woot.

For a medium size bedroom, I would recommend a ViewSonic VT2430.

@ zeroelement: 720p is fine for any TV at or below 40". The human eye can't notice the difference between 1080 and 720 at that size.

As for all of the concerns of the lighted logo, um, who cares?! I'm not a logo/label fan; won't buy something like Northface because of it - I'm not going to buy something and end up being free adverstising. But we have a 37" Vizio in the living room and I have no problem with it. In fact, you forget it's there.

I have also not gotten any information on my shipping status. All it says is 'Your order is in, you're all set!" ...lol seems sketchy too me, even though I've ordered from w00t before, I have never paid this much for something on w00t.

I have never ordered so I'm kind of concerned. i got an order confirmation via email and another email but all it says is your all set on my account page.

Don't be concerned. Woot is usually fairly slow at the shipping part of things, but they always come through. Also, in the order confirmation email they sent you, it states "Your order will typically ship within 5 business days". This coming Friday is the 5th business day from when you placed the order, so we are only half way there .

yeah I was kinda dreaming that I would have the weekend to set it up. But then I realized that I haven't gotten the "we are gonna ship your order" email. Thats unusual. Maybe they have to get their order from Serendipity first.

Wow, I guess I got my point across...

Woot's forum posting was obviously having some issues when I tried to add my comment, sorry about that everyone.

Edit: Ironically after all of those posts I received the TV today via FedEx (San Diego, CA). I never received any kind of shipping confirmation email...for whatever that is worth.

Hey guys, everyone who doesn't have a tracking number try this. Woot staff posted this for a previous woot "Track using your order number under the track by reference tab on Fedex". I STILL dont have a tracking number on my account page,BUT I tried this method and used my order number as the reference number and it shows an estimated delivery date of march 15. Only thing i can figure is woot had these tvs drop shipped from somewhere else. Track using this link and paste your order number in the reference box (second one) select your country and type in postal code and hit track. Hope this helps you out.
