Way to stop the wootoff early.

Imposter Pete was Unprepared for the Almost Human Nightmare Cuckoo Clock. The Walrus and Eggmen were the Height of Envy at the Monkey Bar. See the DJ spinning records on a Flora Phonograph while simultaneously playing Rock, Paper, Scissorhold.

this is superior to the Panasonic Lumix that sold out 2 days ago.

First, it uses MP4 instead of MOV, which is much more compatible in the WIndows world. Ther eis no Free or Shareware program that I know of that can edit MOV, but many newer one allow MP4.

More importantly, it uses H.264 compression while the Panasonic used much older Motion JPEG compression. H.264 is roughly 4x more efficient which means that you can fit 4x as much video in the same memory with similar quality. I was suprised that he relatively upscale PPanasonic used MJPEG. Likewise, you're not gonna find another camera under $120 that uses H.264.

And if my experience with cheaper Samsungs is correct, this is one of the few cameras that allow Pausing during video. I'm not positive though. YOu can also zoom,

That's all great, but is it good for my hobby of capturing "warts in still life"?

Is it typical during a wootoff for the quality posts to be non-sequiturs and comments that generally encourage rampant consumerism? I haven't been around for many wootoffs, but the quality post column is markedly devoid of any useful product information or reviews that might make for an informed purchase, which, I guess, isn't the whole point of a wootoff anyway. Carry on.

Is it wrong that I am more excited about buying more monkeys (come on snow leopard, and fire) for my man cave then about anything else this Woot off can offer me (yes that includes the Big o' Cosmos, unless it is a bag of monkeys) ????

And FYI Woot my birthday is the 1st of July.¦]

Do I want an extended warranty? Why, I'm just going to void it anyway.

You're probably kidding but I'm in medical research and I do take macro photos of skin lesions weekly. Based on the specs, it probably can capture "warts in still life" just fine. Heck, my mom uses her much cheaper Casio to email photos of a mysterious lesion to her physicians all the time. Happy wart hunting.

PS - use high contrast to show depth...

Alas, there's a whole other team responsible for the sales setup. And they do work their tushies off as do the writers. And for the duration, customer service will be swamped. Then it goes to warehouse.

So be kind to your Woot Staff.

Yeah, I think you hit the nail on the head at the end there.

That said, when items go slow (like this one) later in the day, there's usually so insanely much traffic of random kitten/Pan-galactic Gargleblasters/etc. that if anyone does post useful information, the staff would have a rough time finding it (and they're probably also kept busy policing content, too).

Which is probably why there are often no quality posts tagged at all.

(And my sincerest apologies to anyone who gets injured by a rampant consumer because of my suggestions of 4D imaging.)
