Westinghouse quality is suspect. Compared side by side against other brands picture is not as good. However if $$ are an issue.

I have this TV at home. For the most part, I love it. The only problem I have ever run into with it is that when I am playing a video game, I will sometimes have to stop and adjust the brightness to a lower setting.

Gives a really nice picture and is a better price than I paid for it at Best Buy!

That's funny.. I compared this very TV side by side with others and preferred it :-)

I bought a 42 inch LCD Westinghouse from Costco about 2 years ago for ~$600. Has HDMI issues, promised to be fixed by a firmware update that never happened. Have to reset the TV about every week.

I know Westinghouse isn't known for being a high quality TV but you really have to appreciate a 42", 1080p, 120 Hz, LED HDTV for less than $500. You can buy two of these the price of the same specs Samsung TV.

Hmm... been wanting a new TV to replace my old (15 years or so) 27" 480i CRT.

However, Audioholics isn't super impressed:

"Heck, for the right price we might pick one up... for the kid's room."

And an average of only 3 stars on Amazon, so I think I'll hold off for a bit longer.

And that's a perfect example of "you get what you pay for".

For what it's worth - we have two Westinghouse LCD tvs in the bar I work in. They are on approx. 16 hours per day and have worked flawlessly for almost 5 years.

That's a lot of use.

At least I have time to head to work! Just hope this bad wootoff got better since yesterday...
