I bought this on a previous Woot to replace my old kitchen scale, just to weigh ingredients (much more accurate especially for baking). About 2 1/2 months ago I started logging my food intake with a smartphone app. Psychologically the method suits me, but the built-in food database is pretty limited, and it can be hard to measure portions accurately (i.e. what's "one serving"?). Well, voila, I already had the perfect tool: this may not cover everything I eat but it's easy to use and helps me not guestimate portion sizes. Plus, it lists ingredients, not predominately fast food items like my smartphone app. The booklet is a bit of a nuisance--doesn't really work on the go--but the paper is laminated so it won't shred or get illegibly filthy.
Don't know how much weight I've lost but I now fit into my next-smaller jeans :-). I plan to order another one to keep at the boyfriend's place.
