failtosubmit wrote:I Received the mattress several days ago, and as the packaging said, I opened it immediately and let it sit out for 48 hours in a well ventilated area. After the first 48 hours the edges of the mattress had risen, but the middle still was nearly flat so I gave it 48 more hours. Still no luck, the middle of the bed hasn't risen at all. I'm really in a bad spot now as ive sold my old mattress to buy this one, yet i cant sleep on it because it would be like a hotdog in a bun it's so bad. I would really prefer to get a replacement instead of a refund because i really need a bed. I've seen multiple cases on the Woot.com message boards and know I'm not the only one in this situation. Please let me know how I can get a replacement. In Total I've left the bed out for 7 whole days and still no progress what-so-ever in expanding the middle. It is completely unusable. Please help.

I've also emailed both Woot.com and Amber Hungridge at merchsource as well. Awaiting a reply from both. Sleeping on the floor until then I guess. Thanks.

Same situation. Received on 3/29 and the mattress still looks like a square canoe. I hope with all the positive advertisement and feedback that the manufacturer will make good.

Amber, please help!

Mattress manufacturer - Do you care at all the you sold us your defective mattresses??

So at this point I think we have all been duped. The manufacturer is claiming that to get a refund you have to cut the bed into multiple pieces and send them photos? This is insane. Woot, you really screwed over a lot of people this time. Please tell me it's a really cruel april fools joke. I'm out 200$ and I dont have anywhere to sleep. This is becoming quite the annoyance. Please woot, do your customers right and fix this.

Those of you who have had no issues with the mattress how long did it take from shipping (point A) to your home (point B)? I ask because I'm wondering if the majority of us who are having issues ended up with shipment delays in receiving the mattress within that 3 day time window.

I live in Florida and the shipping was 3 days. I opened the package immediately after arrival and the mattress expanded to 9" within a half hour. That night the mattress was at a full 10" and I was able to sleep on it.

I did take the mattress out of the packaging right away and placed it on the wood floor of a spare bedroom. The expansion was so quick that I could hear the mattress sucking in air.

I hope this helps. I can't believe the company would ask their customers to cut their mattresses to take pictures.

Good luck wooters

Let mine "expand" for 5 days. Only the edges expanded to a full 10. The middle is only 4-5 inches. Emailed rma@woot.com. The manufacturer replied asking that I slice it open and take pictures or cut a 12" x 12" chunk and send it to them.

Same issue as everyone else. The edges have expanded but the middle is half the height.

Same issues as everyone else; were all of these defective? Really looking an explanation as to what I've purchased, because at this point it's unusable. This was my first purchase on Woot.com, and so far it's a bad experience.

I'm posting here before emailing anywhere in hopes that someone will make this better...

So I've emailed both Woot.com and The manufacturer as well and have yet to get a response from either. It's going on two days now with no word what-so-ever. I'm not only out 200 dollars but I'm without a bed as well. My Family and Friends will never buy from woot again if they screw me over on this one, which so far they have. How can you people seriously take 200 dollars from someone and send them a piece of garbage, then not respond to emails? If nothing has changed in the next couple of days, the better business bureau will be getting contacted. I need my money back immediately or a replacement bed. This is completely unacceptable.

Add another into the "edges fluffed right up, middle never did" club, I'm at 4 days and will give it the time the MFR rep asked, but I'm not holding any hope.

To those griping about "cut it our take pictures for a replacement" I don't get the issue, it's defective and the MFR wants proof you have a bad one, what's the big deal if they're going to send a replacement any way?

3/18 - ordered from woot.
3/23 - shipment info sent to FedEx.
3/25 - arrived at FedEx and departed from FedEx in California.
3/31 - arrived at my house in Virginia and was opened. (Which means 6 days in transit)

Mine is definitely beyond that 3-day window, yet my mattress is perfect. I suppose I just got lucky. It sucks that so many wooters are having problems. This was my first true woot [I've only bought from shirt.woot previously], and I am happy with my experience.

Inside it is two separate pieces of queen size foam, an 8" section with a 2" section on top. The 2" section is fine but the 8" section is what comes damaged and only expands to about 5" in the center after two days of sitting on a flat surface. It looks like molecular damage from the shipping process. I'll never buy foam online again.

Luckily I'm a bachelor and have a camping cot I can sleep on until I can get a mattress locally. This isn't really Woot's fault here, but I'm still super disappointed.

Due to the smell of asphalt or petroleum, it had to outgas for three weeks before I could sleep on it. After that, it has been working very nicely.

Agreed! the smell is not a good fresh sleep inducing smell! Did you have a problem with it sagging a lot in the middle?
Mine does and it's a bad sag...

I'm having the same problems with the mattress not expanding as others are. Incredibly disappointed. Email sent to support. Hopefully this will get resolved satisfactorily. Any one have any luck getting this resolved (I have no intention of cutting the mattress up to take pictures, as this seems like a ridiculous requirement, when a simple picture would demonstrate the issue sufficiently).

I got the full size one over on Sellout and it expanded completely and almost instantly to full size.

For the person who thought it was too hard- some people just buy another memory foam topper to go on top, it is still cheaper than most other memory foam mattresses. For me, it isn't too hard, I'm not sure I like it, though, still evaluating. (It goes in the guest room if I don't like it though I'll have to saw off about six inches of it to fit the antique bed in there, which is why I wanted foam in the first place.)

As I'd think more disgruntled people than gruntled ones would post here, I wonder what percent of these mattresses failed? Over on the full-size discussion they are saying the same things and very few reporting full expansion even after days. (In fact so far every full expansion I've seen was within the same day, usually a few hours or less.)

So I finally got in touch with Merchsource after the weekend and Amber Hungridge was quick and helpful with my replacement. I took several pictures of the defective bed and they were willing to replace it. I was very worried at first, though now it seems it will all work out. Despite not having a bed for a week or two, I am pleased with the seller for taking responsibility and replacing my mattress.

I will update when I receive the replacement bed.

We got our mattress and it wouldn't fit in our Danish style bed. The opening for the mattress on the bed was 60.5" and the 60" inch mattress I was suppossed to get was 62". Woot told me too bad. I know there are great deals on Woot but the customer service leaves alot to be desired.

Hi all,

Allow me to clarify, in order to set up a speedy refund or replacement we ask that you take pictures of the defective mattress at the high and low points using some point of reference --be it ruler, straight-edge, etc. (no cutting necessary). This is the first option presented.

The second option, should pictures not be possible (I understand not everyone has a digital camera at their finger tips) is a bit more extreme, and asks for a cross-section of the mattress for sampling purposes. A 12"x12" cube from the corner would suffice. I promise you, we are taking your word on good faith and will be issuing a return or refund should it come to this scenario, we simply need physical evidence to send back to the factory for testing since we do not accept opened mattresses. We would not ask you to maim your mattress without anything in return.

I hope this helps! In so many words a picture is worth a thousand words, and with visual or physical evidence we can take the next steps confidently.

Again, thanks for your patience as we work our way through any affected mattresses.

Well I guess that explains why after 5 days my mattress is still bulbous at one end, has several creases that run the whole width of the mattress, and is concave like a canoe. Good thing I brought my old mattress with me when I moved... oh wait, no I didn't do that.

Not sure if this helps but my mattress was one that expanded instantly and I just checked the Manufactured Date on the tag it says 01/2011. Are the defective ones older?

my defective one is also 01/2011.

I will say that so far the response to issues by the reps has been very positive, so while the product has issues they're working hard to make it right, and I really appreciate that.

This is a bed of horrors. I am also having the same issue with the edges being high and the middle sunk down. The difference between the middle of the bed and the edges is 3.75". I'm submitting photos to woot. For one of the photos I put a stack of books in the middle of the bed. I placed a yard stick suspended from the stack of books to the outer edge of the mattress. Placed a level on top of the yard stick. It clearly shows how different the middle to the edge is.

Mine was delivered while I was on vacation. It spent 2 days on the front porch in the weather (rain and hail). I took it in and opened it and let it sit for a day and a half straight up on it's side. Been sleeping on it since. My back feels great. I nick named it Moses because it has worked a miracle. It's the wonder bed. Super duper it is. Hate that so many people are having problems with it.

The smell will go away, let it breath and keep your doors open for a week.

The only reason why I purchased this product was because of the many great reviews it received on Amazon.

I never owned a memory foam mattress before and thought this would be a great way to try one.

The mattress clearly sat around a warehouse for a long time before it was shipped out. The middle of the mattress never fully expanded (the outside was a full 10").
The foam pillows are the cheapest they could have packaged with the mattress (I got what I paid for).

Woot has always been excellent to me and (so far) all the items I have purchased have been great. This is the first time I am reaching out to customer service to see if I can get the mattress replaced or returned (and how I am going to ship it back now that it has expanded partially).

Just a word of caution to anyone wanting to venture into the "cheap" mattress world.

The manufacture has posted reasurring comments about the issue with this mattress and I am looking forward to working with them to resolve the issue. So far I haven't seen any posts of people replying to a successful resolution yet. I will try to post updates as I deal with the "canoe affect".

I had the same issue. I emailed Amber and she quickly responded and resolved the issue. I sent in pictures showing the issues with the mattress and she offered a refund or replacement, my choice. She said to either throw out or donate the mattress, so you don't have to worry about sending it back to them.

I too just sent digital pictures. A total of 3 emails over 48 hours and they offered a refund.

The mattress sucks however, the customer service from this manufacture has been exceptional. They were very quick to resolve this issue in the fastest way possible.

My experiance with Woot has remained excellent.

So, I'm still waiting for this baby to inflate. I've had it for, what 3 weeks now. Does anyone know how long this process might take... in Maine in early spring? Looks like it's going to be a complete mistake at this point. Sags into the middle from all points.

I don't get how you're asking "does anyone know how long it takes?" they're defective and the failure is posted repeatedly in the thread, some of them never ever expand after the 72 hours it was supposed to take.

Just contact woot and they will put you in touch with the mfr reps and start the refund process

Anyone know if there is a return policy if you just don't like it? Mine expanded what seems to be normal, but we sink WAY to much. I had a 2" topper on a normal mattress and loved that, but this mattress is way too uncomfortable, and I haven't slept well in a week. Once there is a divit, you can't move or you will just roll back. And I got the king size version. I know if I bought this locally, there would be a return policy... is there one here?
