I don't want to scare anyone, but we have heard of data corruption on the GTAB, with new devices.
Granted, this with the 296x builds, which these Woot! devices are not. But a few of you are reporting un-requested data wipes (usually with that Angry Birds black screen) and now an instance where the /sdcard (which gets mounted to your PC) was inexplicably wiped.
The /data (user data) and /sdcard (content folder, which gets mounted on your PC) are both on that 16GB of memory they advertise - it's basically has two partitions.
We've seen so many issues on XDA where these partitions get corrupted, I can't even count.
I won't go into the theories, but I will tell you what we've done on XDA when weird stuff like this occurs:
1- Install clockworkmod
2- Reboot into cwm recovery, choose Advanced -- Partition SD card -- 2048M -- 0M and run it.
This will take quite a while to run (maybe 10 minutes, so just be patient). What this does is repartitions and reformats both /data and /sdcard, so be aware that any data on either WILL be wiped out.
I've had to do this twice on my own GTAB, in the last few months - I think my constant modding probably accelerates the problem, but it has happened at least once to a lot of GTAB users, on XDA. Enough that I wanted to mention it here.
I wouldn't do this unless you have strange issues with file corruption or data loss, but again I wanted to mention it as an option.

Not really and, if it there was, it would be fairly useless anyway. Think Windows 98 - they had a logon facility in there but it was very easy to get around it.
I do NOT put anything on my GTAB (or any other tablet for that matter) that is personal enough to cause issues if my device was stolen. I.e. I dont do online banking on it, I don't buy things off Amazon etc. The few passwords I store are for things I can easily change from a PC, like my Facebook and Pandora accounts.
Btw, GTAB mods make this situation even worse, as we have it rooted and debugging turned on (just being honest). If my device was stolen, they'd get some family pics, some comics, music they'd probably hate and a few movies. But no financial info.

thanks for any help on this i searched and searched on Google to no avail maybe i am searching for the wrong thing? idk
The 24 hour clock is a "feature" - real Adam owners hate it too.
As for the top part being cut off, it's their status bar - you click on the battery icon and it "hides" it.
gADAM is more of a "hey look what we did!" and some people actually like it. But some people hate it (I'm actually one of them). But it is pretty speedy, especially if you add an alternate launcher.

When someone says to "reboot" the tablet, how exactly is that done? Just hold the power button in until it shuts down and restarts?
Actually, on stock (and TNT Lite) it's a shutdown command (hold the power button for a few seconds and you'll get a shutdown menu). On mods like VEGAn and CM7, you'll actually get a reboot option.
