This may be a foolish question but... can you play pokerstars on it? (Actually install it, not playing through a remote desktop connection)

I have read here that the root-install-custom-rom is fairly easy to do, but there is the possibility of a problem doing this procedure. Is the new honeycomb system as good or better than the root-install-custom-roms?

There is a possibility that you can mess up but it's easy to go back to square one if you search around for the procedure. Honeycomb is one step above the current ROMs but they are working to get a custom Honeycomb ROM working for this tablet.

Argh man now I've got two Android tablets :D
Figure I'll hack this puppy up and compare them side by side and decide which to keep. I've seen a few ROMs mentioned here, which one is most feature complete/stable for everyday use?
Also how is battery life on here? I saw some sites quoting 10hrs on stock which is pretty damn impressive...

This might be a dumb question but I have not really played with the Micro SD cards yet. The website says it uses Micro SD, does that include Micro SDHC? I only see up to 16GB Micro SD on Newegg, to go higher looks like the HC version.

It runs for a legit 9-10 hours, the lowest I've had is 6ish and that is because I watched the LOTR trilogy on it while on a long trip.

I run TnT 5.0 but it got discontinued because it was so hard to install, but I had TnT 4.XX before that and it worked great, vEGAN tab also works great. All the ROMS on XDA are great but I have only had experience with TnT.

Usb Host is for plugging in a flash drive to read it on the tablet

I had a quick question. I am primarily getting this to read journal/conference papers. Will the paper pdfs get 'squished' breadth-wise while reading on this tablet? Can any one help? Thanks.

I have an iPad with the kindle app installed. Works beautifully. As long as the nook or kindle app is available for Android, it should be no problem.

edit: I just looked in the new amazon app marketplace.. Kindle app IS available there, for free...

They are porting Silverlight to Linux.. at least one of the Android phones already runs it.

Does anyone know a good stylus to go with this. I want to use this as a note taking tool. I am not talking about handwriting recognition just using it for plain note taking and saving.

Also any suggestions on good calendar apps for android? Thanks in advance.

From what I have experienced you can zoom in to what is a comfortable reading size by using "pinch-zoom"

What I was saying is there is no dedicated Netflix app, and the actual Netflix website delivers content with Silverlight which is not Android compatible. Playstation, Wii, Xbox, etc.. use there own built in content delivery system (as to what that is for each I have no idea) that make it so it works on those platforms. Android does not have that.

So what's the difference between all the different ROMs out there? And I'm assuming that ROM means the operating system? I'm new to Android and this would be my first device with that platform.

Thanks promyst. I was more curious about the default 'unzoomed' level, will the pdf retain the aspect ration of a standard a-4 paper? The reason I ask is most pdf research papers show up beautifully on a ipad, but on my 10 inch netbook with eeerotate, the same page loses its aspect ratio and appears stretched. I am not sure if am explaining this correctly.

If you want HDMI out you’ll need to buy a Malata Zpadt2/ViewSonic G tablet Docking Station: http://www.merimobiles.com/Malata_Zpadt2_Docking_Station_HDMI_OUT_USB_LAN_p/meri0548.htm.

Also, if you live in Texas you’ll pay an additional $23.51 in sales tax:

Woot $308.50 ($279.99 + $23.51 sales tax + $5.00 shipping)

+ $45 Docking Station for HDMI out (and RJ45, USB.)

Total: ~$353 with docking station.

Also, if you want GPS support through Bluetooth you’ll need to purchase an external Bluetooth GPS Receiver/Antenna ~$50.00.

+ $50 Bluetooth GPS Receiver

Grand Total $403 with docking station and GPS.

Plus you’ll need to update the software to at best Android 2.3. You’re also only at 1024 x 600 resolution.

I really wanted this NVidia Tegra 2, Cortex A9, but I’m leaning more towards a Samsung s5pv210 Cortex A8 now, until the Android 3.0s become more accessible.
