Check back on previous post. It seems to be a common occurrence with this build/batch. Does not mean it's used. Unless you are one of the very few that received theirs with finger smudge and rubber band around your power cord.

Buyers remorse for a tablet you can't even buy yet, hell tablets will $200 in 5 years, you should wait until then to get one.
I just tried installing NVFlash. I went through the settings laid out on the XDA website, but I am not sure if I ran it correctly. I went through the steps of downloading all of the files and even got the USB setup on my desktop computer. After that, I click on the .bat file, but nothing happened - am I doing something wrong? Should I post these items on the XDA website?
Well, I got mine yesterday and realized that when my tablet goes to sleep the unit powers completely off. This should not happen. RMA in process. I hope I don't get another dud.

Now that XDA is up, kinda, where are they? /man is it slow! Edit: and as soon as I type that, it goes back down

Has anyone else had an issue with connecting to their network? Mine finds the network ok, then it proceeds to connect, then disconnect, then connect, then disconnect. I know my router is ok...Any insight would be much appreciated.
Both mine arrived, would have been nice if FedEx would at least ring the door bell, had refeshed the tracking page to see that it was 30 feet away from me. Since these things are fingerprint magnets plus the humidity/temperature change you get between warm dry indoors and cold wet outdoors (local conditions vary of course) when I took mine out of the sleeve wrap it was covered with them front and back. Mine. Viewing angles horizontally or vertically anything past 20 degrees either way and you start to lose it. Held vertically like a book and tilted left or right you get maybe 10 degrees. And honestly, just not a big deal. If you plan on shared viewing a lot then you have a problem. Just you? Nothing to worry about. Wireless fine but then again I'm three feet away right now from the router. The moment wireless is connected the 88 update appears. My mistake is in not having a microSD card around. Was gonna ask the recipient of tablet #2 to leave her phone at home so I could do stuff with these before surprising her this evening. Looks like that's out of the question... So far, so good. These will be heavy lifters for a lot of PDF articles. That will be the big test for us.

A better solution, as the other users can see it there. Most likely you need APX mode running on the device as well as the drivers (if you are a Windows user). I'm an Ubuntu user, so not too keen on Windows instructions. Also, be wary of nvflash. It's a great tool, but potentially dangerous. When XDA is up, look for the post in Development (under my name, but written by another user).

It could actually be the router - compatibility issues. We used to see issues with routers, especially on older builds. I have two and I would get two different responses with the same GTAB tests. It's a bit finicky - try changing your channel or turn off security (as a test).

And if there is an issue with any order Woot will replace it or refund your money. I don't understand what the problem is with everyone.

Good god, people! I even started a thread in xda general asking you people to not do modding yoga with your gtab right away. And here I am seeing dozens of messages telling me you botched your devices while trying to do nvflash this and root that. And to the people who noticed the problem with the sleep of death thing, you need to flash Clemsyn's kernel v7 or v6. There's also a thread telling you how to fix sensitivity issue (for those who have sensitivity issue). Didn't I say this ain't no ipad or xoom?
I had this issue after updating. I deleted the connection (told it to unremember the network or something like that), then re-added it. No problem.

Same here, mine said Thursday delivery for half of the hutchins sit, and then updated to Friday without any update on status/location. Maybe it left Hutchins on a truck that hasn't reached the next FedEx destination yet? Great excuse to keep reading woot, tho. Learning lots of do's and don'ts. A fairly different rooting experience from my Droid 1, it looks like. I still haven't decided between a CM7 beta or Vegan (newest) yet.
Mine arrived this morning with a loud knock at the door. Looks new to me. I plugged it in and charged it up. Angry Birds goes to black screen and Weather Channel crashes. I didn't download a thing. And I was going to give the installed OS a chance... Now to sift through this discussion for the links to root/mod. There was mention that we crashed XDA?

Update the firmware first! Just connect to Wifi and it'll pop up.

Thanks for the link, I'm going to it right now. I'll let you know if it works.
Shorewood wrote:wow, what the hell? I got my tablet today. Took it out of the box, looked new just like everyone else described. I plugged it in until the light turned green. First time I turned it on I didn't get the config screen (4 step config). So my time/date wasn't set up. I was using it just a little. Was on the wifi playing YouTube videos. I realized the time was off on it and set that up via the settings page or whatever. I was having issues with it force closing on the settings page when making changes. I then lauched the stock dashboard thing, that has the weather, clock and small launch buttons at the bottom. I noticed the weather was set for some other location, so I tried to change it. The program force closed when trying to change the location. I tried rebooting the tablet, but now I finally get the 4 step config screen at the beginning of boot up. I can accept the disclaimer, and then on the next page (time/date) when I click next the app FORCE CLOSES every time. Then loops back to the beginning of the config screens. Not sure what to do, I don't see any way to get into the main screen for the tablet to do anything else. I guess I may have to warranty this thing since it's crapping out. I guess I just got a bum unit, doesn't seem like others are having issues like this with theirs. Is there a way to force my way out of the Jatravartid config screens that keep force closing/erroring out? Error is: The application Tablet Setup (process com.tapntap.welcome) has stopped unexpectantly. Please try again [force close]
Got the same error - simple fix here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=842000 Download the updated firmware (the first one on the list), and follow the steps outlined. Creating the "command" file in step 4 using notepad is fine - just delete the .txt extension after you've created the file and transferred it over to the g-tab recovery directory (which already existed on my tablet). This is pretty straightforward and is a good way to get the stock tablet working without having to root/install clockworkmod/etc.

We are an army of 10,000 strong. Of course we crashed xda.
Not sure if this has been posted or not, but on a new tablet, with a battery charge of 0%, it took about 2.5 hours to fully charge.
talljay wrote:Update the firmware first! Just connect to Wifi and it'll pop up.
I let it start downloading then forgot about it and put it to sleep. Now the wifi is giving me an error and won't start. And half the things I try to click don't work. It wasn't installing the update, it was still just downloading it. Treating it like Windows, I turned off and back on. Took two tries to reboot it and, hey, where was that EULA the first time? It didn't give me that or the set date and time the first time I booted it (though I set them anyway). And it already forgot my wifi settings... My Windows computer just crashed and I had to wipe the system and start over. I was hoping Droid would be a little better. Not giving up. I haven't had a new gadget in a long time.
Got mine and have been playing around with it. Looking over all the mod discussions I am a bit confused as to weather or not I should go for it. After the system installed the update, I'm actually pretty happy with the performance. I can access the web, gmarket, etc without any issues. What is the upside to hacking the unit?
goodintentions wrote:We are an army of 10,000 strong. Of course we crashed xda.
And roebeet is our general. HA!
One of the moderators at XDA fervently believes it was NOT Wooters that killed XDA, today. Maybe that's true, but then again it's been a long time since I've seen outages like this, over there. Coincidence? Not so sure about that.
Be careful doing this if you think you might put a screen protector on it. I did that to a Nokia E71 awhile back and had delamination problems with the films until finally got the residue off the screen. But if you do not plan on using a protector this idea works well.

My GTab has been downloading the OTA update for 53 minutes. How long is it supposed to take?
Got my tablet, charged it till full (why is this even a step? what is this, the 90s?) Turned it on, connected it to my wifi, ran the 3588 update. Now how do I get this to have sound? Nothing plays any sound. Not pandora, not youtube, not angry birds. Please tell me this is just software issue. Edit: Rebooting did the trick.

Mine took about 3 minutes
amazonfan wrote:@drewshrader: I apologize for my reference to you in my previous comment; I didn't go back and read your own post carefully enough. You raised a good point, and in a very reasonable way. Sorry!!! FedEx lists my package's shipping wt. as 4.1 lbs. I was one of the last to order, so I'll be one of the last to receive mine (not until Friday). From what people here are saying, it looks like the 4.1 lb. boxes definitely contain brand new tablets--is that right? I know Woot has a few tucked away in case anyone accidentally received a used one, but being one of the very last in line I'm a little bit nervous...though I realize the chance of my needing one is very slim and I'm probably silly to be worrying at all. Has anyone else noticed that the spell check here flags "Woot" as misspelled? Funny!
I am not going to worry, I am going to assume since I am a late one too, that I will get a new 1 @ 4.1 lbs lol
I told it to forget my network and now when I try to turn on Wi-Fi it says error. What should I do now?
hey roebeet, im sure your getting swamped today with questions! i hope you have a spare min to tell me what i missing... i connected tab to pc and then i transfer the files into the root. i had to replace the update file and the recovery folder that was already in there. then i power off and it goes to recovery mode and shops the install box but instantly goes into reg tnt...did i miss a step or something?
Thanks again, that fixed the problem.
One more gargleblaster this is so funny. People in other parts of xda (non-gtab) are asking questions why their beloved forum have been broken for hours. Little do they know their home is being attacked by a 10,000 strong army. LOL
It took less than 10 minutes on my portable hotspot for Android (ATT).

Roebeet - is there anything you want to know about what's on this thing as delivered? I attached it to a PC as a USB device and took copious notes and copied all the folders. I then updated from 3389 to 3588 and added the Amazon AppStore and a couple of apps to test. Flash seems to still be there. The apps in the Master folder are Flash, AngryBirds, Kindle, Pandora, ColorNote, Twitter and Weather114. I inserted/formatted/mounted a microsdcard but was unable to get the PC to recognize it. So I copied some stuff to the internal sdcard from the PC, then cut and pasted from there to sdcard2 using ES File Explorer on the gTab. Any ideas why the PC won't recognize it? Anyway, if there's anything I can do for you, let me know. I have not as yet rooted or added cwmod or any ROMs, but the files are on the microsdcard, ready to go!
I got it within 7 days of ordering, I live in NJ. 2 things - If you are a Nook Color user, screen will disappoint you - no questions. As discussed earlier, smudge magnet, cheap screen, cheap feel but with serious guts inside. Good for hackers, tinkerers, bad for users who haven't heard about Linux before or a script for that matter! I might use this for little more but as we all know by now, come summer - lot more affordable tablets! Peace!
Hey guys just noticed I don't think my "setting" soft key works. All the other ones do but when I press it nothing happens. Any ideas?
