This is actually a really good speakerphone! My fiance uses it all the time in her SUV and it never leaves the windshield. She loves the solar charging capability, great volume and clarity as well!

Good price here, I purchased it from the place with egg in its name for $25 lol

4.7 is the average review on Buzzillions. Very nice.

I do a daily woot blog where I talk about the woot, link to CSEs, find reviews, etc. A few people have told me it's useful. Google "useful linkage" and there it is.

Anyone know if the charging cable connector is compatible with my Motorola Droid X? It looks very similar.

It would be nice not to need a tangle of multiple chargers/cables in the car.

what, Me, sig?

Like every handless bluetooth, there will be awkward times when someone thinks I am talking to them or I'm just plain crazy.

Maybe I just haven't spent enough time with it but I bought one for my wife and when it works, it works fine. The problem is that it seems one button does it all depending on how long you hold it in and release it. I find this confusing and disconcerting. I have only installed it once (charged) and by the end of the next day there was no juice left suggesting to me you have to turn it off at night. I need to spend a little more time with it but so far it just doesn't seem like it is "there" yet.

Is this really that much better than my phone's speakerphone? How would it compare to if I just mounted my phone on my dash and talked on speaker? (I have a Blackberry Torch, for reference, if anybody knows the difference in speakers)

If your phone uses a micro-usb charger and by the looks of it (after a quick internet search), it does!

warm weather is here. would it be foolish to try mounting this kitty on a motorcycle if it's not too loud?

Yes, my fiance never charges it and she talks about 30-40 minutes a day on it. Granted her car is always parked outdoors, so you may not get enough juice if you park in a garage

Does it count as an impulse buy if you get two? Oh, well. Looking forward to finally getting away from the earpiece!

I won't settle for anything less than the Jabra Cruiser. I've been disappointed with all the rest.

This is great! I hate the thing in my ear while in the car so this should work well.

Probably. Don't know what state you are in and what their helmet laws are but many of the new Motorcycle helmets have the built in blue tooth and they sound pretty darn good.

Does this have an audio out so I can pair my phone to it and play music into my car speakers?

My fiance has a BB Curve and if the Torch's speakerphone is anything like the Curve, this speaker Blows it away!! The volume is very loud! Also since you will be mounting it on your windshield (normally top left corner) you will also have the Speaker and Microphone closer to your face (Better sound for both callers)

http://www.iogear.com/support/manual/GBHFK231_Manual.pdf

Heres the manual. As a Washingtonian I have one major concern that I read in a review on another site.... this is from the manual on page 10:

Using solar power

1. Place the Solar Power Bluetooth Car Kit under direct sunlight exposure with 45 degree angle, and have the solar panel facing toward sunlight.

2. Leave the Car Kit under sunlight exposure for 18 hours to have the device fully charged. The LED light on the Car Kit will light up during charging, and it will turn off when charge completes.

... So according to this it will only charge 2 months out of the year up here. The sun likes to hide from us behind varying amounts of clouds. Not a huge problem since you can always charge the old fashioned way but whats the fun in that?

What's this crap doing on my rug site?

zzzaap

quality posts: 51 Private Messages zzzaap

I'm having trouble imagining a spot to place this where it will get some solar power and and the person on the other end will be able to clearly hear my voice at the same time.

Ditto. I just picked up mine (the Samsung) and noticed the cushion that's supposed to cover the earpiece fell off.

Lotsa stuff...
