How does this thing do as a spice grinder? Specifically, I want to grind flax seed a few cups at a time. Anyone had any experience with this?!?

_S_h_a_m_e_ on Woot! Three months and counting!

(If I take my case to the NJ Consumer Fraud Protection Bureau they'd zap Woot up to $10K per violation, and/or suspend their business operating privileges in the state. Which wouldn't go over too well with Amazon.com. But I'm not a litigator -- I just want someone at Woot to PAY ATTENTION and CLEAR THIS UP.)

Have you tried getting in touch with Samsung? Did they send you the rebate tracking website? If it's in their system, it's likely that they're the folks you need to speak with.

Did you know shirt.woot ships internationally? Get you some!

I am a college student and absolutely LOVE my Ninja! It is perfect for quick, on-the-go meals (smoothies and so forth) especially when I don't have a lot of time. It makes cooking so much easier. The clean-up is also a snap. I recommend it for sure!

Amending my first post - it has the three blade system, so it can't be the old style, it only had two...now I wish I'd ordered 3...oh bother!

Well, the system won't let me send an email to service to add another one to my previous order of two. And I called my friend & asked him to order one for me, and the "stupidly large gold button" doesn't even show up on the order page for him. Gotta love Amazon, I miss the real Woot

I've had both the magic bullet and the blue ninja. The bullet was no more than a gimmick, although it did serve alright for grinding coffee a couple times.

On the other hand the ninja is awesome!

The blades are very sharp, and alcohol burns in cuts, so be careful, LOL!

It actually whips well too, try throwing in some eggs, a tablespoon of water (not milk) for each egg, and letting it run for a minute. Makes soufflé really well. At the end throw in some crumbled bacon.

The only flaw I've found is the powerhead is difficult to grip. The surface is very smooth even in the areas where it's supposed to be gripped and the way it's tapered encourages it to slip out of your hand. I trimmed a couple pieces from a no slip shower decal and stuck it on mine.

Did anyone mention the negative reviews for the original Ninja Prep on Amazon?

Most of them were "found to be helpful" by a majority of people who voted on them, and the main complaint seems to be that the blender broke after several uses.

I'm not sold on Ninja.

I've had my Ninja for about 6 months and LOVE it. When they say you can turn ice cubes into snow for frozen drinks... they aren't kidding! I love making "Instant Ice Cream" in mine using ice cubes and some sort of fruit smoothie recipe.

I've got some recipes on my blog - here's my favorite: http://pamtremble.blogspot.com/2010/09/fuzzy-navel-frozen-protein-yogurt.html

And yes.... I actually bought this deal today. Not sure why I need another Ninja, but I couldn't pass it up. LOVE it!

I bought that one too, but mine was missing a blade so I got a refund. Thinking about picking this one up since more containers = less washing! Yup, I'm that lazy.

I am in for 1!

My $5.00 mixer from Wal-Mart died last week, my wimpy chopper is wimpy.

I don't have a food processor.

This thing fixes all of that! Boo-yea!

I asked above about needing this if you have a high quality blender.

No replies so I google and found this excellent epinions review that discusses what the ninja does well and what you still may need a vitamix for:

RE Hummus: The Ninja rocks hummus! Besides making snow cones in the summer, we use it to primarily make hummus...artichoke, sun dried tomato, black bean, anything. We had the basic blue Ninja with two blades (never seen a blue ninja before anyway) but saw this at Costco and took the two blader back. This thing wails!

Skizzo wrote:Same here, I keep refreshing the page at work. Not sure why I don't just buy it for my lady. Damn you cheapness!!

Just do it...

One thing that I don't think has been mentioned is the blades: aside from being razor sharp, there are TWO SETS of blades, vs. the single blade in the Magic Bullet. With the latter, I found myself constantly shaking the thing to get the contents to move in the VERY small mixing container so the blade would get it all. With the Ninja, there is none of that. The mixing container is ample in size to allow the contents to freely move, and what's missed by one blade doesn't stand a chance with the second.

I only wish I could justify pulling the trigger on this one, since we COULD use a new hand mixer, but have no need for a second Ninja..

This is a great buy. Don't kick yourself later when the sold out sign comes up...

edit: OOOHHH! I just noticed that the tall spindle has THREE sets of blades... Even better still!!!

OneMHz wrote:Anyone tried powdering granulated sugar with this?

I have the original ninja with less blades and it works for making powder sugar, but not well. I'm thinking that with the extra blades on this new one, it would be more efficiant and not leave any grains. I say go for it.

I recall looking at the negative reviews a while back, but it sounded like most of them did not read the manual where it tells you "Do not exceed x-number of seconds or you will burn out the motor." If you do short pulses, and give it a couple seconds of breathing time in between, you should be fine.

Isn't that a slightly different, less powerful model with only 2 blades instead of three (or 4 versus 6 if you count that way) and not "twice as fast"?

Looking at the reviews for this unit there are some but not nearly as many complaints about reliability as there are for the blue model.

I keep on hearing about a version with metal gears and 1100 watts but the only thing I can find with those specs are the more traditional style blenders from ninja.

Smoothie season is upon us, and I'm tired of having to stop my blender a half dozen times to push down the frozen dome that creates an air pocket around the blades. That won't be problem with the Ninja, right?

With all the Ninja pieces, it looks like storage could be an issue. Does anyone know if the small bowl will at least fit inside one of the pitchers? And how does one safely store the blades if not in the bowl\pitchers?
