1st soldier: Are you suggesting coconuts migrate?
King Arthur: Not at all. They could be carried.
1st soldier: What? A Knight Flight Batman carrying a coconut?
King Arthur: It could grip it by the husk!
1st soldier: It's not a question of where he grips it! It's a simple question of weight ratios! A five ounce Knight Flight Batman could not carry a one pound coconut.
King Arthur: Well, it doesn't matter. Will you go and tell your master that Arthur from the Court of Camelot is here?
1st soldier: Listen. In order to maintain air-speed velocity, Knight Flight Batman needs to beat its wings forty-three times every second, right?
King Arthur: Please!
1st soldier: Am I right?

A word of caution... if you are giving this to a kid, make sure you point out, that the spinning blades, while small, are nearly invisible when at eye level. They can get hurt. I bought 3. But what do I know, Im old enough to have played with steel Tonka truks with razor sharp edges when the doors broke off. you learn not to injure yourself after a while.

Description says Yes

3 frequency options allow independent control of additional helicopters (orders of multiple units will receive helicopters with different frequencies)

What's the maximum range or distance that the remote control works effectively, before it goes out of range & operator loses any control of the flying batman device???

Amazon states it "Flies up to 30 feet" so I guess that is the maximum range for the remote contoller.

Oy I get it! It's knight because Batman is The Dark Knight which is funny because night, while also a homonym for 'knight', is also dark.

actually you could fly about 933 of them at the same time... but they'd be being controlled in 3 groups...
or said a different way... yup, you can have 3 controllers active, flying 3 separate Bat-dudes on 3 different frequencies ... (or 3 separate Groups of Bat-dudes in bunches of wildly out-of-control groups of 311 in each group ... if you were OCD enough to get every one of them 'trimmed' exactly the same for exactly the same flight characteristics --- you could have huge and dazzling air-shows of synchronized Bat-Dudeing ... but still only in 3 groups each on one of 3 frequencies and never the twain shall meet )

a perfect day to have a great day on purpose...
or because the store clerk told you to...

fe428623 wrote:Great Scott Batman! I can see this chopper spinning into oblivion. It has no lever arm on the tail rotor to keep it from precessing.

Welcome to the world of coaxial Helis. The two rotors spin in opposite directions, and changes in their speeds are what turn and stabilize it. The tail rotor is there only to move it forwards and backwards. You could take it right off and still be able to stop Batman from precessing.

Edit: No, I think I'm wrong. This appears to be coaxial, but flies forward just because it is weighted and tilted that way. The rear rotor (which is on a short boom) appears to be there to trim and turn it. I think this is a two channel coaxial. IOW you can't go backwards, and can't stop flying forwards, either - you can just turn it as it flies. That kind of sucks!

Coincidentally, my son just received a similar RC 'Bullet Helicopter' two days ago as a present. His was sold by Brookstone, and is surprisingly cool. (http://www.brookstone.com/mini-remote-control-rc-helicopters.html?bkeid=compare|channeladvisor|jellyfish|datafeed)

It was difficult to control at first, but with practice he got more skilled and can now keep the thing flying, and somewhat directed.

Be aware that the control is IR, not RF. The instructions for my son's helicopter state that the toy is for indoor use only, and will probably not even work outside because the sunlight will wash out the IR signals. I haven't tested this, but have no reason to doubt it.

Still, our helicopter is a ton of fun - my son hasn't tired of it yet, which has really surprised me - and I'd expect the Batman copter to be equally fun.

Yes. We have a small RC helicopter, very similar to this one (see my previous post), and on night 1 of ownership my son buzzed our cat Max. I don't think any cat's paw has ever moved so fast.

In one swipe, Max swatted the helicopter down like it was nothing. The paw moved so fast my eye couldn't even see it, but the helicopter hit the ground.

There was no damage to the copter, but any imaginary passengers surely perished.

That's some very flashy video, but we notice that there's no sustained footage of nicely controlled flight. You know? nothing fancy, just a smooth takeoff transitioning into a nice little cruise around the room followed by a controlled landing?

So, we're wondering: was all that ADHD-inspired fast-cut B.S. intended to disguise the fact that these things things aren't so good? It was? Ooops! sorry...

Not one of these, but my cat completely destroyed the styrofoam remote-controlled airplane that I had a few years back. We both had a lot of fun while it lasted.

This one might hurt an animal if they caught it, though...

My daughter's neighbor came knocking on her door one day. It seems her cat had grabbed his mini helicopter out of mid air and absconded with it over her 8 ft. fence into her back yard.

It's been AGES since the last time woot offered Batman (besides that cheap non-working, digital camera) and they give us this?

If the manufacturer has discontinued this toy already and a few reviews on Amazon are titled "Don't Waste Your Money," it seems obviously that woot is scrapping the bottom of the Batman barrel. There are so many better products of the Dark Knight to choose from by woot: costume masks, backpacks, belt buckles, bobble heads, umbrellas, wall decorations, keychains...oh whoops, I lapsed into a promotion of our website. Sorry about that.
