How loud is this? Would it work for the bathroom?

The shape reminds me of the opera house in Sydney.

Why get the iPod version when u can get a bluetooth version you can use w/ other bluetooth music players.

Does the iPod version sound better with an iPod than a bluetooth version playing music from an iPod via bluetooth?

At first glance I thought they were some kinda weird Mickey Mouse product. It's not Mickey, but it is still weird.

This is ipod/phone compatible only right? I didn't see where it has an mp3 connection. Or maybe I'm missing something.

I looked into these the last time they were listed, and if I recall correctly, while I *think* the bluetooth worked with the Zune, you could only play music through it. The on/off, volume and other functionality didn't work. Zune is not bluetooth.

Correction: you need to buy the bluetooth adapter for the Zune. The adapter allows you to stream music, but you lose control functionality.

I bought the Bluetooth one last time around. I am pretty happy with it. If you use it with your computer or laptop, make sure you are also not using a Bluetooth mouse at the same time. Makes the audio stutter and really crappy. other than that, I haven't had any issues with it. It is reasonably loud, holds charge pretty well, and works in the bathroom, during showers.

Or because it's wireless? I'm getting all confused with this thing. What will it work with (and how)?

Is the battery user replaceable or sealed inside?

I purchased two of these last time they were up on here. I still have one un-opened, but the one I have out is great and I use it all the time around the house. Haven't tried it mounted on a bike yet, but summer's coming and I hope to.

I'm pretty sure the bluetooth version will not play music from an iPhone. Can only be used for calling and hands free features.

can a regular old mp3 player like my sansa clip hook up to the player or does it have to be an "ipod" >>??

There are 2 options. 1 is a proprietary iPod connection. The up-side of this one is that it will broadcast to multiple speakers at once with one adapter. Cool for group rides or speakers scattered about the house. The other connects via standard A2DP bluetooth.

Neither of them has a headphone/auxiliary jack. If you have a non-bluetooth device you would need to purchase a bluetooth adapter of some sort for it. Sony makes a cool one that works as either a receiver or transmitter.

I don't know why, but the shape of this thing is messing with my head.

There are 2 version. The bluetooth one is just standard bluetooth, and should work with most blue tooth phones. The ipod version uses a different transmission technology, which is why they show the ipod in,the pics with that plugin transmitter block. It has some extra features like bring able to send to multiple speakers. They are all outlined in the product page.

Basically unless ur an apple fan boy, have a bunch of fanboy friends who want,to listen to your, mysic instead of,theirs, and want something that wont work with anything else, or you have an ipod with no bluetooth, get the apple version. Otherwise get the bluetooth one that will work with your iphone, and eveything else, and you dont neef to plug in a transmitter for

I got this the last time it was on one of the Woot! sites for $10 more :-(

Anyway, I got the Bluetooth version. One for myself and one for my roommate that drives a bike taxi in Phoenix.

He uses it for it's intended purpose, on a bike. I put one of the mounts on my bedside lamp and the other on a towel rack by the shower and use it for listen to Pandora off my phone in the morning.

It works down to the second floor of my condo and can get pretty loud for such a small set of speakers. It holds good charge and you can answer calls on it too.

The only thing I don't like it it only includes a USB charger with a non standard cord that plugs into the base. If you lose the cord, you're screwed and it's only two feet long, so if you want to use a wall charger you have to get a USB wall charger, and a USB extension cord.

I use the bluetooth version for my iPhone. It is standard A2DP. Plays music, controls volume and next/previous, takes calls and has a mic.

Anyone know of issues that this thing may have with older models of the iPod? My wife and I have a 2nd Gen model and it seems to have issues with proper interaction for the dock we currently have.

That's a great deal! $100 elsewhere. I bought 2, one to keep and the other as a gift for my sister.

So will the bluetooth model work with a Droid2? I know very little about bluetooth tech in general. Thanks!

yes it will

I bought one last time around and have 0 complaints. Its an excellent bluetooth model. I use it when I go disc golfing and it works out just fine.

The iPod version comes with a standard wall charger instead of a short USB charger like the Bluetooth version. The iPod version's receiver can also be paired with multiple sets of ci-fi speakers.

The Bluetooth version can be used with all kinds of Bluetooth computers, mp3 players, and cellphones.

Great! I was reminiscing about this Woot the other day, wondering if I made a mistake about passing this deal. Now it's back!

Is there a microphone on the speaker? (I didn't see it in the product description.)
Will it automatically revert to phone function when a call comes in? How should I set this up to do that?

Apologies if this is a Jatravartid question (I've never used Bluetooth before), but will I be able to hook up multiple speakers to one content-generating device? So, technically, I'd be able to set up a pseudo-"5.1 home theater" with these? (Apologies if I'm butchering terminology.)

If I have an iPod Touch (which has bluetooth capabilities, I believe) would it be better to get the Bluetooth or iPod version?

It's a gift for my wife, she wants to use it when she is working around inside and outside the house, making the portability a major plus =)

It has very good sound for the size, but I wouldn't recommend it for during a shower. The ambient background sound of the water overpowers the speaker, which is sad due to its great sound in open rooms.

For those who want bluetooth AND ipod compatibility, here is the cheapest ipod bluetooth adapter I could find, and it has TERRIBLE reviews.

So essentially, you're better off just buying one bluetooth and one ipod.

The description says only works with iPod Touch generations 1,2, and 3. I have a 4th gen and was wondering if anyone has gotten this to work with a 4th gen? And if not, any idea why it's not compatible?
