Upconversion is one that always comes to mind. Upconverted video often is pixelated compared to the non-upconverted. There are other artifacts as well. NOTHING is broadcast in 1080P. It is all 1080i and will be that way for many, many years to come.

Not true. ESPN, ABC and FoxTV are all broadcast in 720P. That was because fast moving sports looks less blurry when not interlaced. It may be that you have set your reception to 1080i from the DVR, so you get everything at that resolution.

I bought this a couple of weeks ago, and it's terrific. Pristine condition, excellent picture and sound, and at a great price.

The only thing I don't like is the remote, which is the ugliest POS I've ever seen. Feels awful in the hand, and the mute button is about 1/8" square and jammed into a space so tiny that it's impossible to hit quickly. (And I *really* hate listening to commercials.)

Fortunately the remote isn't an issue for me, since I use TiVO, with its ultra-sleek, fits-my-hand-perfectly remote. If you don't use TiVO but buy this television, plan to get an after-market remote.

Except for that, I recommend it completely. And pay no attention to the folks who insist it's worthless because it's only 1080i.

Text is much easier to read on my 1080 TV.

Also I actually do sit about 4 feet or so from my TV when I'm watching a bluray or surfin the nets so....

Maybe if you were watching a 32" from 15 feet away or something you couldn't tell.

Not everyone does that though. Its pretty minimal, just sayin... I can tell.

I can also tell. I think the reason is the downscaling issue. If you are watching a bluray that is 1080p (99% of BDs), it will need to downscale the image which will create artifacts. This is especialy noticeable when text is displayed.

Fine, fine, fine . . . I'll bite & move this along -- there's a Vizio blu-ray dvd player with the Vizio apps & wifi at Sam's right now. This will be a great second tv in the den (small room) for guests & kids.

You all can thank me later . . . ;-)

yes that will be fine. if you use it as a full-time PC monitor the resolution will be way too small for most people.

text is only blurry if you turn on/leave on Sharpness. Sharpness should be at 0 for every LCD display hooked up to a computer.

I have my computer (desktop) hooked up to my 1080P 126" Sony Projection system, and it works outstandingly. General computer usage is perfect, and anytime I go to watch Hulu or Youtube videos I love it.

How close are you to your mac versus you tv? I think for a tv this size you can't tell a difference until you are less than 4-6 feet from the screen. I am sure some will post a link to the chart.

We purchased this TV from Woot a couple months ago (refurb, same price). I've been extremely happy with it. The picture is great and the sound was much better than I expected. For the price I doubt you can do any better, assuming a 32" TV is what you are looking for.

They have nothing better to do than knock the woot that's up. Sony is Sony, this is not Sony so compare apples with apples. The price of a Sony is probably double or more.

So the original poster is a jackass. Go ahead and be mean. He's just holding up this woot by knocking a great deal.

Bought one new a couple of years back, just got one more from Woot for the bedroom. These TVs are fantastic work horses, and even the speakers are decent for a LCD.... Going to get square trade to be sure I am covered, but I am really excited to see this offered!

Have two Visio's, One is 46" 720p about 4 years old and moved from living room to bedroom when we put in a 55" 1020i in its place. Both work well and have been pleased with each. If only there was something on worth watching.

Would but this if I could find anyplace to put it but paying FIOS another monthly fee for an HD box in a spare bedroom or basement doesn't make sense.

I got a 32" Sony Bravio from Best Buy for around $300, don't remember the exact amount, but it was an open box item and missing it's stand and remote. Which wasn't a problem because I ended up wall mounting it and I use a universal remote.

I've seen studies that show that couples who have television sets in the bedroom consistently have less sex than couples with no television in the bedroom.

Which to me says there's no such thing as a "good bedroom tv". Your mileage may vary.
