I got one of these for xmas last year and use it daily. I am close to pulling the trigger on this just in case mine dies someday. Love the thing.

NICE! Being woken up because I'm on-call for work pays off! I've been wanting one of these bad boys for months now and this price is pretty sweet. I don't mind if it is a refurb for $24! Usually by the time I start my day these are sold out. Maybe I'll get a new one if it pops up during a woot off and use this for grinding up food for the compost bin. YAY WOOT!!

Now back to bed because I'm slightly delirious.

Its refurbished, the owner before you cut off his entire hand and sent the thing back. Once they taste human blood, they're never satiated. Note the kind of damage it can do without electricity. Leave it plugged in at night and it will probably come to life and go kitchen-appliance-serial-killer-postal. Kinda like a car I once owned name Christine.

Used this model at my restaurant to make smoothies for a couple months, while we got a commercial blender. Worked like a charm day in and day out. It finally gave out after making hundreds of smoothies. I own one at home and I expect it will last for years.

Well im in for one..... Specially since my friend broke my blender. Maybe I should have her pay for my Ninja.

The chopping container is also great to make a single serving smoothie and I found the ice gets turned to snow faster.

Can this thing run on 230V/50Hz power? Or will a transformer be necessary?

How well dose it blend ice water? I have blender now that dose not do so well with ice. I have seen many of the comercial for this very late at night and was always tempting.

LOL, my gf was just watching the commercial for the ninja on TLC, and was mad at herself for not buying it during a woot-off awhile back. I checked right now and wow the ninja is todays woot!

Only thing to look out for is to not strip the peg that connects the motor to the blade.

I bought one from Woot last month, the one that came with a hand mixer. The first thing I did was turn ice into snow, and oh my. There was some snow. just picked up 2 more for my mother and my girlfriend.

Can it be set to LOCK ON? We had a chopper before that would allow this and now the only ones we can find you have to hold the button down. My wife purees onions and more and it's a pain to have to stand there holding the button for long periods of time.

From reading what everyone else has said, your wife isn't going to need to stand there for longer than 10 seconds or so to get those pureed onions, etc. Also according to what I've read, the instructions seem to say that you need to use it in short bursts, so I doubt it would have the locked position.

Same here! I think I have a woot problem.

Have one already, I know it's hard to believe something so cheap could work, but it kills any blender/ food processor that I have used, hands down...

Got this last time it was on here for $39.99 with the hand mixer. Good deal at that price, so even better at this price!

I got one of these the last time it was listed. It was fantastic -- beats a blender or even a Magic Bullet by a country mile. Unfortunately the one I got broke after a short time. But by that time I couldn't live without it! So I went out and bought a Ninja Pro. I use it every day, sometimes two or three times!

I got one a few months back on Woot! The top is heavy and very solidly built. The blades will cut you if you not careful. It's powerful. I use mine to make steel wool out of ball bearings.

This thing is amazing... hence the reason I am still up at 2 am... Had a fun night entertaining with yummy blended drinks~ Kinda bummed that it is 20buck when I paid 35 on here a month ago!! But it IS worth the 35 bucks even 50!!!!

I was curious about the same thing... I really want to buy this to make purees for my baby. (I actually got the Kalorik baby food maker from my baby shower, but the steamed/cooked water ended up somehow leaking back into the resevoir unit. When I turned it over to pour out the remaining water, it was black and smelled like burnt carrots!!) Anyone have baby food experience with the Ninja?

Previously wooted the Ninja Prep with smaller motor. Larger unit works very well, but with some very small chunks of ice remaining after blending. Smaller unit is fantastic, making incredibly smooth smoothies, but I wish for a larger pitcher working as well. Definitely in for this one, and will bestow the other on a relative. Don't forget the warning to pulse the motor lest you burn it out.

I want to know if this device will grind coffee beans?

Bought the less powerful silver model a couple of months ago and threw away the smoothee maker that leaked. GREAT purchase. I don't recall the packaging though - are refurbished items packaged like new?...would love to buy as gifts.

I'm almost sold on this, even though I have absolutely no more room in my kitchen. But I need to know if this can do things my food processor sucks at. Anything too sticky or gummy screws up my food processor, like trying to grind up cookies for a crust and I have to take off the lid and rearrange several times to manage it. Someone tell me the ninja can handle making crumbs out of Oreo cookies and I'm in.

VERY effective. Be careful: my wife made Egg Salad Paste.

Curlio: it will make SOUP out of your Oreos if you want. You can grind up spoons with it.

My wife and I got one a couple months ago from woot. We haven't used it for many food applications, but I can tell you that it makes it really easy and fun to make frozen drinks. We have had a blast experimenting with different fruits etc.. Because it's so easy.

I bought one of these the last time around and have never been able to get the thing turned on. Does anyone know where I can return it for a replacement?

I too got one of these last time they were available and can honestly say you will love it. Don't pass this up.

I was sooooooooooo mad I missed the Ninja with the hand mixer so I was happy when I saw this less than TWO weeks ago so I bought it and it was like $10 more. I guess they had some left over. I wish this was the one w/ the mixer!

I'm debating whether to buy another set just to have or for a Christmas or Birthday present for someone. But I better think fast, cuz it's gonna go fast! ;)

So....Can you emulsify with this? I'm assuming not. I don't see how you would have a hole in the top to pour your oil through since the motor is up top....anyone who have one speak to this?

bought this from woot NEW 1 month ago. WITH a hand mixer for 29.00... So far awesome! Hopefully these refurbished are not from those sales!

Seriously though, this thing is awesome. Very well made, solid, HEAVY motor. SHARP blades! Just be absolutely sure the motor is fully seated on the peg for the blades before pulsing or it could strip. Did this in haste a couple times, but luckily, it's still ok. We are just very careful to make sure it's fully 'engaged' before hitting the ridiculously large button on top.

This thing is worth every penny and then some.

Bought one last time with only 2 containers. Best purchase I have made this year. I cut up ham for ham salad almost instantly! This is a great deal! An extra pitcher thrown in!

Got the master prep pro a few months back and the cuisanart has been sitting in top of the cabinet ever since. This thing is AMAZING. Very easy to use and clean. It turns ice into a fine, powdery snow within seconds.

Two things to keep in mind:

1. The blades a VERY sharp; Be careful when removing them and washing them.
2. Because of #1, ice is the only thing you need to use longer pulses for. If dicing an onion, a short one second 'tap' is all that is needed, other than that and you have onion mush
