I know that I can hook my Sansa Fuse up to the AUX port, but iPods/iPhones get all of the love recharging while connected. Does anyone know of a device like this that will recharge my little MP3 buddy while it sits on a speaker like this one can?

It sure will. As long as you drill some holes in your Sansa, connect a red and black wire to the power contact terminals, ensure appropriate voltage and connect the other ends to a power supply.

I mean, it will sit on your speaker while it charges, but the speaker won't be the one charging it...lol :-P

Don't know about this particular speaker, but I do know Altec Lansing makes quality stuff! I own a AL setup for my ipod, and its great!

I disagree with kukreja's heavy modding requirement. You can probably manage it with something like this adapter: http://cablejive.com/universal_dock_adapter.html

..but since its discontinued it might be hard to find one.

I recently bought one of these, so far my reaction has been "meh". I've owned other items for similar purposes and I am not that impressed with this one. Not that its terrible, but for the price I payed ($60 for one) I expected better. Every time I dock on it, it gives me a pop-up to install their app (which you don't need to use). It isn't terrible sound but I have a small town-home and use it in my small kitchen so it does the job.

Ever since I bought the Altec Lansing Expressionist Plus 2.1 Speaker System off woot last year I have been in love with their products. I am definitely down for this! I do wish that this would have buttons, volume knobs, or an output jack.... I think woot needs to makes us a deal on the Altec Lansing Mix, its got side firing subs... boss.

I'm considering these as a gift but don't know much about the iTouch, which is what the potential user has. Could the iTouch be moved from one of these to the other during playback without needing any restarting? Or are new keypresses needed every time the unit docks up?

It does not list this as compatible with 4th generation ipod touch.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing. Since there's nothing to the top off this you could rig a pretty sweet mount and use a dock extender.

Looked it up on youtube and found this underwhelming video review.

I got one of these from Amazon Vine over a year ago and I still use it. Even if I'm not planning on listening to music, it is just too easy to dock the iphone. It has a really small profile, but the sound is good.

This would actually work great for those house roamers that like a constant soundtrack of their life. Just pop out the iPod from one and put it in the speaker in the other room when it comes time for a room switch. I definitely had a couple girlfriends that would've loved a set-up like that.

Surely this is compatible with the 4th gen iPod touch?
