Dang, wish I'd bought one. By the time I'd done enough digging around to discover that it has even *better* video support than detailed in the specs in the description, but, it *also* has video output (via AV cable that plugs into the earphone jack -- one connector in, and three RCA connectors out - L/R/Video.
Looks like it also has QVGA and can handle full VGA files (better quality when output to TV).
I think it'd be a nice "poor man's Zune (or Ipod). Both of those do video through the earphone jack, but they also do it via a dock, which this player doesn't. Big stinking deal, IMO (unless you're a purist who insists on using a docking system, such as a particular Ipod-owner living in this house who shall remain nameless).
That, and the camera built into it makes it seem like a hearty competitor to the Sansas (I have more Sansas than I can count, and two Zunes, and my wife has two Ipods).
UNLIKE the Zunes and Ipod, this player -- like the Sansas -- accepts SD cards -- so, for a total of about fifty bucks (if you buy a 16GB card on sale) you'll have a 20GB player that fits in your shirt pocket.
Also, more rugged than the Zunes and Ipods, since it doesn't use a hard drive (and the flash-memory Zunes don't have video output).
And if some day they port Rockbox to it, well, so much the better.
Hoping they list these again today (and NOT when I'm taking a sleep-break!)
