You're right. I recently bought a large amount of these for a DIY padded cell at a much higher price and they were well worth it.

I lock the kids in there when they're hyper and they love running into the walls. They also provide excellent sound dampening. When the wife is done cooking, cleaning, etc. for the day and feels the need to talk about her day, I just lock her in there for a couple hours with a digital photo frame (purchased during a wootoff) displaying photos of me looking interested. Works like a charm; she gets to talk incessantly about the mundane details of her day and I don't have to hear any of it.

Since we're on the subject, what IS a good bag for people to sit on? I have a big empty spot in my apartment that I was considering putting a recliner in but I like the idea of being able to move the bag to play Kinect....
